Topic: How many people here remember the Infinity Blade trilogy?

Posted under Off Topic

I recently discovered, much to my sadness, that Apple has completely removed all traces of the Infinity Blade games from the App Store due to their legal dispute with Epic Games. After a lengthy and emotional twitter rant, I found myself wondering if there was anyone here on my favorite imageboard/forum that remembers these amazing games. These games were a part of my childhood, I discovered them in high school and followed the series passionately. I've beaten all the games, explored all the hidden content, read both the novels. I can say with no hyperbole that these are some of my favorite games of all time. Maybe I'm hoping for some sympathy or just to connect to others that enjoyed this series, but yeah, question is open.

I do, though I felt it was a glorified tech demo for UE3 on mobiles.

In fact, it was removed before the legal dispute:

Such is the fate of many games without any kind of constant revenue stream for the publisher. Apple forces developers to update their apps frequently. For game publishers eventually sales will not be enough to justify update costs, and the game will be silently removed.

I thought the court ordered them to restore the Unreal Engine on the Apple App Store.

Up until about a month ago I was able to download and play the games. They were there, just unlisted. You couldn't purchase the games any longer, but they were downloadable if you had already purchased them. Epic also kept the lame ass Infinity Blade stickers up past when the games were delisted. That's why I'm assuming they finally got around to removing the games completely. Like I said, I can promise you I was able to download and play them a month ago.

That "glorified tech demo" got three games and two books. The first game may have been a proof of concept, but it was taken pretty seriously by the devs and the community that formed up around it. I have this pipedream of the series getting revived with a big budget. I imagine it playing something like an open world For Honor in terms of gameplay. It will literally never happen, but if I ever had a dream game that would undoubtedly be it. A man can dream, and wish that one of his childhood favorites wasn't relegated to a bad reference in a game he passionately despises.

I played one of the Infinity Blade games on my iPhone forever ago! It was a lot of fun! I even got an Infinity Blade T-Shirt (my mom thought it was a Dark Souls/Skyrim shirt lmao).
