What anime image boards do you guys generally use? I use SanCaom, but they're getting weird. Wanted to ask opinions of you cultured fellas before I settle on defaulting to pixiv.

Pixiv or Danbooru are my go to.
I use Pixiv. There is a lot of communication going on there. And there is an encyclopedia.
However, I cannot say that I can recommend it in preference to e6,
Because Pixiv is run by Japan( cannnot post without censor_bar !! ), not well managed = No one can help you when an insidious troll stalks you, we Japanese don't understand foreigners people_from_other_countries, the tagging is lax and hard to search for, no blacklist feature.....etc....
Other times I use FA, but I end up coming back to e6 because it's just too convenient here.
( Of course, For posts that are not furry, though, I/you will have to use pixiv or danbooru.... )

Danbooru
Gelbooru. Its the same as Danbooru donmai with none of the nonsense
Gelbooru would be the closest and similar to e621, where we host antromorphic artwork, they host japanese made artwork (altough they seem to give exclusion permissions to some western artists).
Actually I love quoting their posting guidelines a lot, because of how well it is written and explains all the same things that keep happening in here. https://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=wiki&s=view&id=6645
Pixiv and FurAffinity aren't exactly boards or boorus, they are personal galleries, so they don't operate in same manner.
Gelbooru, but use ad block. And go into the settings and choose the "see all pictures" every time you go there if you want fringe stuff. Setting stays on if you make an account.
Pixiv is nice as well if you want to bother making an account. It's all japanese but easy enough to still search for things
Personally I like Danbooru.
