I remember the "news" section on the top of the site used to be used to list updates. For a while now it's rarely been used. I wonder why? I used to like getting updates through that and I wonder if it'll ever be used for the purpose again?

Understandable sentiment. I also wonder why there is no "Current events" or "Politics and world events" section of this forum. Ditto for as to why most of the mods don't have much, if any, tolerance for ITT and "Ask me anything" types of threads.
