Topic: how do posts get approved?

Posted under General

im kinda confused by how this site decides on the approval of a post, i have one now that is at 13 days and another at 9 days without approval to far (https://e621.net/posts/2482808?q=jakethylacine and https://e621.net/posts/2487802?q=jakethylacine)

however i have another post that is currently at 18 days and got approved pretty quick if i remember right (https://e621.net/posts/2476035?q=jakethylacine)

Certainly my art isnt the best on this site, but i would have thought that if the one that got approved could get approved it should be easy enough to get the other two approved.

So this raises the question, how do posts get approved?

If the pictures aren't too low quality, then it just takes time for an approver to see it. Sometimes pictures can slip through the cracks for a few days until they get noticed.

What's the basic criteria of quality? I can typically tell what definitely is good enough, and what definitely isn't, but sometimes pictures fall somewhere in the middle, and I'm not sure if they're good enough or not.

This picture is pretty sketchy, missing hard ink lines, but you can still definitely tell what's going on. I'm not sure where this falls on the quality scale.

The art itself is still good, a sketch can be uploaded without issue. What does and doesn't fall under the minimum quality standards (beyond the obvious like traces and blurry photos) is kinda subjective and is often in the hands of the janitors/mods who view the post.

hey, sorry, all three of my uploads just got removed... Apparently they dont meet minimum quality standards...
