I found some art I want to post, from an artist who is not listed on site, but the artist only has their name in Japanese. Should I just make the post with the Japanese name?

By Japanese name, I presume you mean kana and kanji characters? If such a name's not already used on the site, you won't be able to tag it since new tags can only use ASCII characters. You can ask here and someone can try to help romanize the name for you, though in the general case, tagging it with unknown_artist and mentioning the original name in the description or a comment would probably be the appropriate thing to do.

Ah, alright. Thank you! I'll just upload it with the name in the description then like you said

Taiwan is claimed by or claims China (depending on which government one deals with), so I'd say go with the Chinese version.

Hong Ying (or Kurenai Hotaru). As a name, it's typical to retain pronunciation over meaning.

Mandarin Chinese is the official language of Taiwan, so "Hong Ying" would be most appropriate (while we're on the topic, what's the best way to romanize Chinese text?)

If so, it seems to be a recent; trend; for e6 to take use of that ID.

To be honest, I'm not too convinced by this, but understand that it's a measure to identify the artist.

Is the artist Taiwanese, or someone currently residing in Taiwan? Both their Pixiv bio and posts, and Fanbox profile and posts, are written in Japanese. FWIW, their fanbox uses the ID lovej30642.

Their Pixiv page doesn't list a Twitter URL. I don't know if there's an easy way to search for someone on Twitter.

Nope, I believe it is Not the name of the artist, of course.
However Recently there was such a discussion on the topic.

I don't understand much about this rule, and don't know where it was discussed,
but if You trust that topic, I think you should so.
( Maybe we'll use this method until the artist wishes to have the desired name... )
