I don't think I have a huge grasp on how e6 usually handles this kind of distinct identity change.
Does Elise still make sense for scenes in which they aren't trans-identifying and currently are identified as Lewis? (eg.the start of the comic)

Yeah, was going to say, I don't know if there's a precedent for characters changing identity where it's still the same character (AFAIK people tend to make new characters instead?) and the identity may not be completely retroactive. post #1697437 shows that character being called Lewis, so the name is still accurate for that post and all... But at the same time, the artist's 'sona, glo, got retroactively retagged as willow_(glopossum), so...

Hell, for that matter, does that mean all images from before that character's transition are supposed to be tagged as crossgender?

I think we should alias to the new name. A note like "Elise's deadname was Lewis" can go in the description.

If it's their current name, then the tag should be aliased to that current name. Seems straightforward tbh.
