I don't mean it's 'dead' as in no one is using it anymore, but it looks like those in charge have abandoned it. Current state:

Password resets have been broken for months, leaving me and several others unable to log into the site at all. (bunch of others saying the same on twitter too)
Last post from them on Twitter was in June, replying to someone having issues with password resets. My DM has gone unanswered for over a month.
The post importer has apparently also been broken for several months.
The last blog post was over two years ago.

I guess deactivating my account was a good idea. It's too small and apparently moderation is gone. That explains why I'd see unmarked nsfw posts occasionally.

Well, At least its not FLO, overall. Here's to hoping that next year they get their act together and rise from the slump. More people should realize that the sale of FA to IMVU was a FUCKING MISTAKE; Dragoneer and Fender nowadays care more about IMVU and Twitter clout and IMVU ad money than creative freedom.

They're talking about FurryNetwork, which is owned by Bad Dragon.

Not gonna over-defend FA, but FA being bought by IMVU is slightly better than letting the site crumble to irrelevancy. I am not hoping that the features we wanted for FA to come immediately, despite Flash being deprecated by 2021.
It's really strange that FurryNetwork, a site made and owned by Bad Dragon, and has features more superior to FA, tends to be more broken than FA...

Maybe FurryLife Online actually has the better chance of becoming the new FA. But it won't happen as long as FA is intact, and the bestiality/feral ban would repel potential FA refugees.

^ FLO should just ban all nsfw content and be like a furry DA/kid friendly FA or something, the feral ban is convoluted and stupid, the site has no point to exist right now.

But anyways, this is more about FurryNetwork's status. Staff look inactive too. They said anything recently?

They really need to hire better coders as well as branch out more.

I used to be on FN alongside FA and IB but like the site I went inactive after a while as it unfortunately couldn't keep my attention like FA had. As of this thread noting its inactivity I decided to finally say "fuck it" and delete my account. No point in keeping a dead account on a dead site that I don't and haven't touched for many years, even Weasyl as a site bothers to update every now and then.

Same deal with Furiffic, and that's jumped hands multiple times iirc. Maybe it's too many cooks in the kitchen, or modern social media just sucks up too much attention for smaller platforms to grow at rates we once saw 15 years ago.

Perhaps, but FLO is also very stringent with removing specific forms & positions of political conversation and dissent (instead of outright allowing, or denying it) , and embracing others. So that is also a turn off for some FA refugees too.

It's something that shouldn't be a factor in building around "Furry", but apparently is in their case.

FLO is now just another Fediverse instance service, relying on Misskey. Meaning that there's little point to join their service directly, and can just run your own instances.

Actually, at some point, FA was repurchased by Sean Piche because IMVU wanted to split, and put him in a ton of debt apparently.
