Reason: Much as being without pants doesn't automatically mean bottomless (one could still be wearing boxers/panties/a loincloth/etc.), shirtless also doesn't automatically mean topless (one could be wearing a bra, or a blouse, or any manner of other non-shirt top). And it would be consistent with the recent removal of the pantsless -> bottomless alias...

We have to tag only what we see.
If a character is topless, then they can't be wearing anything that covers their torso. If said character is wearing something, then just use the tag that corresponds to that piece if clothing and refrain from tagging what's missing. For instance, use the bra tag instead of the shirtless tag.

Yes, which isn't the same as shirtless. A character can be shirtless (not wearing a shirt), but not topless (they can still be wearing a bra or chest wraps). So the current shirtless -> topless alias is bad and needs to be removed.

I agree that you can be shirtless without being topless, but what's actually going to happen to the tag if it's unaliased?

It seems to me like it'll just be used for 99% the same thing as topless to me, with the occasional character wearing something like a bra or undervest.
