Topic: Average approval time?

Posted under General

Hi guys. So, I made my first upload here the other day, and I was just wondering how long it usually takes for posts to get approved? Reason I'm asking is because my upload has already been pushed back to page 13 of the pending queue and I've been seeing more recent stuff get through pretty fast, so I'm a bit concerned that it might have gotten buried. Do the mods eventually sift through that far, or are posts that make it to the double digit pages of the queue without getting approved basically a lost cause?

Yeah, pretty much just wait. If it's taking a really long time, sometimes that's an indication that there's some debate about whether it should be approved, but sometimes it just takes a while.

Tips to help get your posts approved faster: tag well, provide sources. Your tagging seems pretty decent, but providing valid source links (the more the better) would be a benefit.

That image did not even show up on my radar because it lacks sources.

Then again, as it has been pointed out by others, 3 days is a pretty reasonable wait time.
Feel free to poke me if your post gets stuck in a queue for a week or so. I can't promise that I'll approve it, but I don't mind taking a look.

Mind you, posts only get automatically deleted after they remain in the queue for 30 days.

Edit: I accidentally a word.

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I know that 3 days isn't long at all, and normally I wouldn't have batted an eyelid at it taking that long, but the fact I was seeing more recent posts get approved within hours got me worried. As for the lack of source, I wasn't aware that would cause issues, but like I said in the description it was a commission that the original artist never posted publicly, so I pretty much am the source.

Not true. If there's no direct post to it, you can at least link to the artist's galleries and just say that it was a commission in the description to explain why there's no direct link.
Edit: Found a "Sample" source link, added that too.

Ah, okay. Sorry about that. This is my first time uploading something, so I thought that the link needed to be to an exactly matching version of the image. Well, at least now I know the proper procedure for if I upload something else. Again, sorry if I've caused people a headache.

We've all got to start somewhere. Direct links are certainly preferable if you have it, but others can at least do some hunting around without it. Glad you're willing to hear me out on that.
