Topic: Blip Help, Never Used Before

Posted under General

Hi to all! It's your friend here, Hydroggarizard. I haven't been on the forum a while, so you probably haven't seen me in a while. But after using this site for quite a while (7 months), some things I've figured out. How to use blips-slash-what they are, is not one of those things. Could a friendly user, or perhaps a few friendly userS help me out...please?

I know what you're probably thinking:

"If you've been on the website for 7 months, how come you still haven't figured it out?"

Well, I've mostly been using the website to look at artwork, mostly meaning "99% of the time." The other 1% used to be on posting on forums, but after a few confusing topics which made no sense (that I posted last summer), I decided to stay off of the forum for a while. Now that 1% is used for blacklist edits and account management.

But now I fully desire to learn about this website as much as I can, so I can use it extensively. I TRULY love this website....and I enjoy being a furry and being on here with friends I hope to make on here. I love e621....and my first step to truly joining the community is by asking....what are blips, and how do you use them?

Sorry to make this whole post an essay.... Just wanted to explain myself to avoid any confusion...And don't worry; I don't bite! Not at all!

Blipping is basically this site's version of twitter, but it's better because it allows you to use a few more characters.

Method 1

1. Click blips at the top of the page.
2. Click new.
3. Type @HydroggarizardRCHRDX sometext

Note: Typing it in the forum or a comment just emphasizes the username, it won't show up on the user page.

Method 2

1. Click the @ symbol on someone elses blip to reply to it.
2. Write something.

Ah, thanks bud! Now, I dont wanna sound awkward when talking about something, so should I bring up a random furry subject, a subject referring to a piece of artwork, or something relevent to a discussion?

Presumably most things on this site would fall under both, so my answer is probably going to be "yes".

Someone once said that blips were kinda used for artists to chat, but that's not really the case any more. Now that ts just used for randomly posting thoughts and chatting. Very much like twitter, as durandal said.
