Topic: What are the minimum quality standards?

Posted under General

I posted 5 images yesterday and they all were deleted by this and I am confused. What makes them so low quality that I can't post them when another image I have has been approved. These were the images that got deleted.

their bad

What is it though is it just the standard of the admin or is there a page that details it what is it?

Don't mind memeboy, that short post doesn't really explain anything. The admin who deleted them claimed they did not meet the minimum quality standards, which is kind of odd, since they seem to be a better quality than a lot of the other images I've seen.
@NotMeNotYou could we please get your statement on this?

Nope. It's all subjective, depends on the admin, and is meant to keep down on the number of posts.

I'm guessing that their reasoning for the actual images you posted is they are too dark and difficult to see what is actually going on. Also they are SFM models which, while still allowed, are generally discouraged unless there is something notable about them.

Your better off sending a polite message to the particular admin that removed the posts for more information (in this case it was NotMeNotYou.

Ya I was unaware of an ability to message when I posted this but I did find how to do it. Seems a tad silly of a rule though, I mean I can kinda understand it but just odd. Also I don't think there have been any images of the Drawkill models here hence me posting them.

Were they traditional media? Site tends to steer away from that art-type.

No just an image of each model looking at the camera in creepy ways. Two leaning around a corner, one reaching up to the camera and another grabbing just bellow the camera.

Are they screenshots? Screenshots are considered to not meet quality standards.

Well, I guess I'm not the only one having this problem...I submitted 8 images an they were all deleted by NotmeNotYou. They were edits, and clearly marked as so, citing the original source and credit.

Reasons for deletion was "bad edit". I dunno, I thought they were pretty good. You be the judge, maybe I'm just blind to quality: http://furdello.net/private_art/index.php?dir=edits

His profile says to contact him to ask about deletions. I did a few days ago, but never heard back. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he's just busy though.

It's weird because he approved my other edits. If I had to take a guess, they were deleted because I uploaded too many edits at once and I can understand them wanting to regulate too much edit content.

No sfm is a 3d animation program. So I had to pose the characters and such on my own and set up the lighting. Hence my confusion.

Same here I thought at first it was cause I uploaded 2 that were almost the same except the eyes were different. I thought "oh maybe they were to similar and they got deleted" then I realized all 5 got deleted and I was like "wait why are these so bad?".

Low quality models (textures and meshes) as well as bad lighting.

Husky approved the other, but he is more lenient when it comes to 3D stuff.

In your case it's very clearly visible that you just photoshopped a pussy form another image into the original post, your cum isn't done too well, too.

Also, I approved the others only because I didn't see the edit, I approve ~300 images each day, so I don't have too much time to look at stuff if I want to clear out the queue so that everybody can upload again.
I mean, I could delete those as well because they're no better than your newer ones but that seems a tad bit foul to me.

Also, I saw your dmail at like 4AM when I wanted to go to sleep, decided that I was too tired to get my point across without foul language and decided going to bed was the better option.
Which directly resulted in me forgetting to reply, so sorry about that.

Summoning an admin seems a tad bit pointless considering there's no proper way to alert someone of the use of their name in a random forum post.

I can understand the lighting thing but the models are themselves very high quality. Understand it seems a bit arbitrary but I guess thems the rules.

Maybe we're looking at them differently but you can clearly see where the polygons are, especially on the head where it isn't rounded, but actually flat surfaces around.

Maybe you forgot to activate one of those trigonometry shaders that artificially round an object at runtime?

Well then, you have a commendable eye for quality. I thought my edits were fairly well received by those who've seen it. But if e621 doesn't want them, no big deal, I've had these edits for 4~ years now and only recently thought about uploading them.

...Though I don't see why you'd use foul language, my message to you was pretty simple and honest, so I apologize if my submissions bothered you that much :X

Because I was tired and agitated through other people.
You didn't deserve fallout from other users so I went to bed to get rid of it. :V

It's how the German people communicate; it is also part of their mating ritual (or so I've been told).

Actually the way Source Film Maker works there is no control over that quality in the rendering. The models are displayed as created so some vary with quality aka some have smooth high polygon counts yet others have lower polygon counts making them more spikey depending on the person who creates the models. So I am rendering these at their max quality and that is how they are intended to look.
