mass update ren_(sareen) -> sareen
mass update sareen -> solar_(aspect.tribal.wolf)

Reason: Original character design for the old Sareen was sold and renamed and then Ren_(sareen) design was renamed to Sareen.

Is that second suggestion supposed to be an implication to the character owner? If so, we don't make implications from characters to character owners, that information is placed in the wiki instead. Click this to visit Sareen's wiki, where you can update it accordingly.

Ah well its more two characters had a name change, whereas the Sareen that has been mostly tagged has been renamed Solar by a new owner and then the art uploaded for the character tagged Ren_(sareen) is now the new Sareen. Though if I do need to manually go to the individual submissions to change the tags then I can, I just did not want to seem like I was vandalizing tags by doing a mass edit.

You wrote that as an update chain. You'll need to update sareen on its own, and then ren on their own.

...However, to avoid confusion from people who knew the old names, maybe suffixing formerly ren's "Sareen" character is a good idea, then they can both be aliased.

That sounds good though how do I do that? I am still not knowledgable on the more technical things about tagging (or good with scripting talk and whatnot).

This is some rather complicated stuff, once you dig into it. Ren is Sareen's character. still owned by Sareen, and still called Ren.
Solar_(aspect.tribal.wolf) is a different character entirely.
An old design seems to have been transferred to aspect.tribal.wolf under the new name Solar but Sareen didn't abandon her character entirely, just the old design. This post suggests the old design should be renamed, but that requires manual retagging.

Sareen seems to have been absent from Furaffinity for several months, but this tweet suggests a sale did happen. There's no confirmation on who bought her on Sareen's end, just those posts from Tribal.

I have been talking to Sareen personally which is why I started doing this as that is what she has told me was her plan the character who used to be Ren. That sale post was specifically for the fursuit which is being sold separate from the character. Sareen's FA page is still active though the reason it looks inactive from uploads is because of the deletion of the old sareen art(actually moved to scraps) while not having gotten any new art for a while, apart from our recent commission together which I have uploaded. That what prompted me to request if I can do these changes. Anyway I have altered the tags for the characters manually though I am not sure how to do the thing about making them in a way they can be aliased for people that are used to their old names.

Maybe take another look at that tweet: This one is for the suit and artwork/character design, this one is for just the suit, suggesting only the design got purchased.

The scraps are even older than the gallery.
An alias can't really help both sides of the search without going on a detour to a disambiguation:

alias ren_(sareen) -> ren_(disambiguation)
alias sareen -> sareen_hinaku

That second alias relates to this post listing that as her full name. As for the disamibuation, that should honestly be its own, separate disambiguation due to how many ren_* tags there are, and that would just make it super difficult to find solar_(aspect.tribal.wolf) anyways.
