The tag alias #54981 spectacles -> glasses has been approved.

Reason: I have been lead to believe that spectacles are the older original term for glasses but colloquially mean and refer to the same thing by modern standards.

Until now, I would have said that spectacles are the glasses that come without earpieces, but it seems those are pince-nez. Spectacles and glasses really are synonymous.
