Topic: Regarding Wetblush

Posted under General

So, I'm sure just about everyone here knows about Wetblush, the new furry porn site. I don't know if anyone is aware that Wetblush is free, but it is funded through Patreon. I was wondering if it's okay to post images from the site, since it's not a paysite.

I think because they made enough money from patreon to support it.

Yes. If you go on the site, there's a message stating this. Their entire site is free to view. There's not a whole lot of content yet, as the site is fairly new.

Why would they call it "Wetblush"?

It's is the sister site(pun not intended) of hardblush.

Funny that the gay site (Hardblush) With it's obsession with femboys.

Not exactly a -bad- obsession mind you

Is the one we have to pay for. Damn.....

Then there's no problem with that. However, it does mean that we can only accept the free files that are posted to WetBlush, rather than any "higher res" or "bonus" posts that Patreon members have access to.

Some of these higher resolution versions seem to be being uploaded by their artists on their own pages.

Like, say, this image:

The one I got from Wet Blush before it became open was in JPG format and was 919x1300. The one from atryl's gallery on InkBunny is in PNG format and is 1060x1530. You're not referring to private even higher resolution images, are you?

If the artist or copyright owner releases commercial content for free, then it's fine to upload that as long as it's not in violation of our Avoid Posting list.

It seems to be 100% straight and lesbian oriented (from what I've seen so far; 5 pages) so that's always a plus in my book. Art quality is very damn good too. I love e621 and the sheer amount of content it gets but so much stuff slips through the blacklist it's not even funny.

Then your blacklist is horrible.
Or too niche for people to tag the images properly, that can happen as well.

Nah, I got a good amount of shit tagged, there's a lot of pics without solo.

Then wouldn't your avatar be blacklisted? It is solo...

Explicit solo.

So, apparently Patreon has banned porn. Considering Wetblush was made public through Patreon, this can only mean they'll have to go back to the old way of doing things.

Nudity is still okay though. I don't know where the line was before since I haven't been on there much, but since getting rid of all nudity would probably destroy a massive part of their market, I suspect they would probably be very cautious with doing anything like that.

I don't know how much this applies to wetblush though.

Still wont stop anyone who draws porn to keep using Patreon.

Honestly, this is the first I’ve heard of any kind of TOS change on Patreon. The head honchos over at Patreon haven’t sent out any emails to adult account holders, and I haven’t heard of anyone’s account being shut down yet. Where are you getting this information, may I ask? In any case, even if Patreon kills the ability to put adult stuff in the feed, I’ll simply stop posting the comic pages into the Patreon feed, and delete what’s already there…simple as that. The weekly updates will continue as normal, and there’s no way they can tell me to stop distributing whatever content I please through Dropbox/Copy, and to be honest, what I distribute via another service isn’t their business anyway. So in short, this won’t affect a thing! Patreon’s already let the Djinni out of the bottle…they can’t put it back in now ;)!

Way to fucking go, Patreon. Thanks for fucking it up for everyone.

Christ, that's kinda ridiculous. If they didn't want porn on their site they should've made that clear right from the start, not after 1.5 freaking years in which a huge installed base has formed. :/

Anything pornographic that is drawn, sculpted, or computer generated isn't getting removed.

Thanks for finding and sharing that. It really clears up how much of an effect this will have. Looks like the rule change over at Patreon only affects photographic porn, other formats are still fine so long as the Patreon member marks their account as hosting NSFW content. Based on that, it looks like Wetblush will be able to keep using Patreon to stay funded so that its content can stay free-to-view. And postable here.

Well, there's always offbeater...it's basically only for porn.

Technically you can do non-porn there, but they take a larger % because of the increased risk involved in porn.
So really it's just for porn because anything you can do on kickstarter or similar is better to do there.

So... what exactly has changed?
That bit about pornography has been there for months, as far as I remember. In practice, it just means that (non-real) porn is required to be marked as nsfw.

Effectively nothing, so far as I can tell
