Topic: Are parent/child posts with human only out of scope?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I wanted to upload four pictures (these, specifically), but since they aren't exactly a comic, I wouldn't use a Pool.

The problem is that 2 of them are human only, and the middle two are mid-werewolf transformation, and there's a progression between the 4 images.

I was planning on chaining them as parent/children, but I'm wondering if the pictures would be allowed in this case (like in a pool) or they'd be deleted as not in the scope of the website. Or if I just should use a pool.

A pool would be preferred. Human only posts that are a part of otherwise completely relevant comics are allowed, and in this case I would consider it to technically qualify as a small comic, since there is a clear connection between the images.

There are short pools of 2-3 images, but normally it also comes with a comic title. You can create a pool called "damao's gloryhole encounter" if you wish for this post.
Alternatively, you could just set the first image as the parent and the remaining three as children to it, so that they remain chained together.

The "no humans" rule only apply to singular posts where there are no connections to anything "furry", but in this case it involves a transformation_sequence so all 4 images would be relevant to this site (provided that you have chained them together).

They are a comic. It's a four page/panel sequence.

Avoid parent-child chains. If it's a sequence of events, as in those posts, then three or more posts should use a pool.

Everyone, thank you for your answers! =)

I'm sorry if this is off-topic, but when does parent-child connections are recommended? Only when it's an alternative version of the same picture (like clothed/nude versions)?

That, or sketch/completed versions, or updated versions (changed lighting, altered markings), censored/uncensored, text/textless, etc.

Alternative versions as well as progression. However, if you feel the need to chain them, a pool would probably be more appropriate. A progression of only two posts can be a parent-child connection, but three or more should be a pool.

You shouldn't use post relationships (i.e., parent/child) when there is a comic involved, in which case a pool would be more appropriate.

However, short 2-3 post sequences can also be made into parent-child chains, but you will need to chain it properly so it doesn't look messy. For example:

  • Post A is parent to post B & post C. (Correct)
  • Post A is parent to post B, and post B is parent to post C, and so on. (Incorrect)
    • Exceptions can arise when there is an earlier post (prequel) and then a later post (sequel) with many variations; e.g., post #3180382. In this case, pools may also be appropriate.

I personally also use it for much larger sequences (up to 8-9) when the differences are minimal and they are mostly just alts of the same base image, such as post #1891315.
