Topic: Alias fœtus -> fetus

Posted under General

fetus and foetus are aliased to fœtus, however we prefer the American spelling for most tags, and this is one of the exceptions. I also suspect that a lot of people don't know how to type the œ digraph, which could be annoying for some.

but you dont have to use œ, you just have to type fetus and it gets aliased to fœtus

This is true, thus it doesn't matter much to me one way or another.

The spelling itself only really matters for the wiki, but I'm mainly suggesting this for consistency.

True as that may be, this site takes the American spelling approaches to things, so the alias should be reversed so that they alias to fetus instead.

This reminds me of when they insisted on the silly spelling of feces no one uses earlier just to reverse it later :P

I managed to find the rest of the those leftover fæces tags by using Inspect Element and searching through the code in Edit Tags mode. It made me feel pretty clever. :p
