Without the censorship laws, creative and eccentric tentacle porn would not exist to the extent it does today.

At that time pre-Urotsukidōji, it was illegal to create a sensual scene in bed. I thought I should do something to avoid drawing such a normal sensual scene. So I just created a creature. His tentacle is not a penis as a pretext. I could say, as an excuse, this is not a penis; this is just a part of the creature. You know, the creatures, they don't have a gender. A creature is a creature. So it is not obscene – not illegal.

Wasn't it an American general who forced that law on them in the first place? Don't blame the Japanese government for what wasn't even started by them.

You can blame them for keeping it around.

It's still better than Thailand's crazy censorship bars.

But yeah, Japan's censorship even on pr0n has to go.

There is absolutely no means to justify it. Not only is it a double-standard ethically, but it’s also inapplicable to general logic.

Putting a black bar on anime pussy isn’t going make you want pussy less. It’s going to make you want the real thing even more, because you aren’t seeing it on a screen. That’s what many horny people call a “cock-tease”, and it only makes them hornier. I don’t know how this could’ve possibly been unclear to Japan.

And if there’s been any decline in population there, then it’s purely coincidental. Forcing people to slap black bars and pixels on vaginas didn’t do shit, and they know it.

Some people like censored porn because the frustration from not being able to see certain things is a turn-on for them.

However, Japanese porn censorship is largely ineffective_censorship, which means NOT ONLY does it slightly annoy the average viewer, but it also wouldn't be good for someone looking for censored porn. The tags for cocktease stuff like that would be convenient_censorship or barely_visible_genitalia, which is not necessarily how Japanese censorship is done.

Mental gymnastics ... Eh? *Fox Flashed his Eyes*

Perhaps, Actually, It was a undercover-marketing to get people to add more of this to their dishes !??
Or, It is the result of fools who mistakenly believe JUST adding censor will lead to a solution of the problems of porn ??

Well though, I dont know-- ¯\_(´・ω・`)_/¯

~~~ In my opinion ... ~~~
What @Lafcadio said is correct.
Moreover, in 2011, The Law was modified to include electronic-records (( =internet )) as well.
No politician was brave to challenge that, Even at this modern era, I guess.
Although, The law would NOT restrict private viewing of works on servers outside of Japan.
In the opinion of a Fox who lives in such a place,
Japanese do 臭い物に蓋をする = Just Sweep the trouble under the rug, when they find something with problems/issues.
  • Tending to think subjectively and emotionally ; They would Not consider what others think.
  • NOT tending to think constructively and logically about the way to a solution ; They just look at the results Only and Would Not guess the reason Why.
  • If they are faced with something they don't understand, They erase/remove the thing itself.
Well, This is What the Japanese Is, I think.
~~~~~~~
As a side note, This Is relevant to our e621, too, actually.
Some Japanese do not understand what e621 is so They are under the bad delusion, based on their own ideas only.

Everyone,
 What the hell do you think such an arrogant, insidious fool is going to do next, towards to our e621?

Here are my thoughts:

  • To be selfishly paranoid that e621 is a site stealing artists' work -- Without understanding how the Internet of the Earth works and what Fair-Use is.
  • To think that everything goes one's own way without considering the result of one's statements, posting information or works on Internet -- While participating in the public Internet at one's own risk.
  • To be upset and say Admin is egotistically enforcing rules on users -- Without understanding why the rules are enforced on e621 or other sites of Internet.
  • To mistakenly believe e621 is a lawless place where Trolls are left alone -- When they have never actually used our site.
  • To believe only one's own thoughts are Always right -- While growing up and living with others.
  • To misunderstand just being an artist or user means one can do, say anything, or annoy others -- Knowing All of Furry Internet users is part of the Furry-fandom And Internet.

You may think these are Lies of me?
But, However, I really have seen some of this IN FACT and the rest is possible.

Against such fools I have a serious rage that cannot be explained by ゴゴゴゴ as the air trembles.
That is why I have a project on the other topic, to clearly say NO; A ignorant person like a child cannot understand unless taught in explicit language ... !

God I wish ... Hopefully I wish I was never born ... in Japan.

By the way.
I am a person who prefers topping my chirashi-zushi with Nori -- Also I'd prefer that Nori chopped up like Black censor_bar.

I would rather stay an art enjoyer than become a Japanese artist, if that's the case. Thankfully some of them are aware of this and try to post uncensored works elsewhere.

I feel bad for them, though.

Well, that's an interesting read. Thank you very much for this! I might also try a few Japanese dishes in the near future XD

Sounds a lot like typical human behavior to me, regardless if they're Japanese or not.

Lies? On the contrary, as I said above, I think you describe more than just Japanese.

God I wish ... Hopefully I wish I was never born ... in Japan.

You had to be born somewhere. It's better to accept what is and work to be the positive example of your culture you want the world to see than to wish for what could have been yet be disappointed the people of your culture doesn't fit an ideal of impossible-to-achieve perfection.

what kind of mental gymnastics does one have to go through to justify that

Idk, what kind of mental gymnastics does it take for someone to let their 18 year old kid go off to war before they're legally allowed to drink at a bar?

Another thing I find interesting is that most Japanese artists I've seen don't care about censoring their work, a lot of them only do it on Japanese websites that require it (pixiv, skeb, etc.) and post uncensored versions elsewhere (on sites hosted outside Japan or behind paywalls) despite the laws requiring it. Also, I've actually commissioned NSFW from a Japanese artist once and they sent me the uncensored version (since I didn't use skeb, they were one of the few Japanese furry artists I saw that took PayPal instead of skeb).

I think these examples kinda prove that the majority of Japanese artists don't like the law either, in addition to us Western folk :)
