What's usually the best 'name' to use in a situation where the artist has multiple handles or addresses under different names, or like twitter name, where there is the account name as well as the @accountname? What's the best way to create an artist tag for Japanese artists, whose names are usually written in kanji?
Also, what about situations where the artist isn't known, but can be traced back to some certain source. An example being this post https://e621.net/posts/3222040 where the drawing is official art posted on a game's blog? Would the anonymous_artist tag be appropriate?
Or what about taking from 4chan drawthread boorus? Would those use the anonymous_artist tag, or is the drawfag tag the appropriate tag?

I just never really know what to put when creating an artist tag, unless the artist has existing tags on other boorus like danbooru or paheal, etc.

If they have multiple different handles/account names, their signature may be a good place to start. Places like Twitter also have a separate display name, which may be more in line with what they prefer to go by. You can also ask them what they prefer to be called.

If you don't know how to read it, try to find an account name that they have to use ASCII characters for (a Twitter handle or FA account name, for example). Otherwise, I'd tag untaggable_artist and mention who the artist is in the description, and someone who finds an appropriate name for them can tag it.

If the artist is unknown, tag unknown_artist. anonymous_artist is for art where the artist could be known, but they wish to remain anonymous.
