Topic: Anatomically correct kobold, what do you think?

Posted under General

Try to remember that Ed still pretty much only speaks for Forgotten Realms content, which as many fond memories as I may have for it... is still Forgotten Realms.

Going by official artwork and descriptions, and also the Humanoid (reptilian) typing: I would assume cloaca and no breasts would be the most in-line with official canon.

I would say that unless the people in charge say, specifically, what their genitals are, there is no anatomically correct.

Yeah, anatomically correct only works if it's real.

Of course, you can point at the closest RL examples...but there's a lot wrong with that, biologically speaking. And you'd be surprised at how diverse life can be even among groups you'd think are a certain way.

It can also work if they have an officially defined set, like Sergals do. Ed didn't say anything about Kobold genitals though, and even if he had, it would only be one specific type when he's stated that there are many different species known by that name. When a term describes many species, you can't say any one is specifically the correct one, which is doubly true since they're not D&D exclusive.
