In the time I've spent on E6, I've run into many a comment when someone admitted they discovered a new kink or interest due to the art they just saw.
Let's go beyond that and speak in a broader sense. When did art here make you expand your horizons and spark an interest in something you were previously uninterested in before? TLDR at the bottom.

An easy example to start us out with is video games:
XCOM 2
The viper_(x-com) enemies were memes and had been catching my eyes for years before I finally went beyond and now I have all the games from EW to ChS. Now I'm just awaiting whatever expansion comes next for the franchise.
Halo Franchise
Never really was into it since... forever basically. I knew about the sangheili and grunts but the idea of being a super soldier in the future just didn't appeal that much to me. Was searching for some avian content and came across t'vaoans which quickly became my favorite race. After consuming a bunch of fanfiction, I had an awful dream which I was compelled to write down at 1 am in the middle of the night. Now a year later I've written about 125k words deep into a fanfic that I never thought would break 30k.
Those birbs deserve more love, even though kig-yar are the second most posted alien race of the franchise here, which was shocking to me initially, I still think they deserve more love.
Snoot Game / Goodbye Volcano High
While it's an animated novel and not a video game, its 'choose your own destiny' elements always make me lump these types in with video games. I never played for the multiplayer (except battlefield), it was all about the single-player campaign, story mode, or whathaveyou.
I know the drama surrounding GBVH with its initial reveal and while it was a modest laugh, I did investigate it out of curiosity since I have a knack for all things scalie, but it didn't catch my interest at the time and fell off my radar.
id:2292070 came along depicting a school shooting, and any remote interest I had abruptly died for whatever reason. Fast forward to last Sunday and I happened upon id:3283120. The tag 'snoot game' instantly stood out. I investigated, laughed, cried, and completed two playthroughs, now I'm looking for additional content, mostly fanfiction. Do have this song opened in the background and it's super mellow and has me in my current writing mood which is probably why I went a little long with this post...
Also while I'm here, if you know any good communities for snoot game, I'm all ears, particularly discord. Stuck my head in the GBVH discord server earlier this week and left, just not for me.

TLDR: Lewd art got me interested in both the XCOM and Halo franchises, and introduced me to one paradoy visual novel that I wouldn't have found otherwise.
