Clearly an attempt by Disney for a Take That at fans. If it's any consolation to fans though, in the context of the movie, the ship is official between the actors who play the characters, not the characters in the TV show's own reality. To say that the Gadget and Zipper in the movie have to exactly reflect the Gadget and Zipper in the TV show is like saying, for example, that the real life shenanigans (or a movie depicting such) of William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, and their costars must follow the same pattern as James T. Kirk, Spock, Dr. Leonard McCoy, and the crew of the original Enterprise.

Me when I saw this thread title a few days ago: "Oh, you furries and your weird-ass ships."
