Topic: Uploading an art piece with higher quality and resolution

Posted under General

hi! thanks for taking your time to read this. Yesterday, I uploaded a character reference sheet for my fursona i commissioned to this website but the artist sent another piece with higher quality and resolution. Now Im confused of what I should do to upload the new piece with higher resolution and quality, should i flag it for deletion or simply just upload another copy? Any comments help, thanks again!

There's a post replacements feature, but it's still in beta. Until it's available to everybody this is what you'll have to do:

  • Upload the new version.
  • Make note of the new post ID, it'll be at the end of the post URL or underneath the "Information" heading on the sidebar.
  • Navigate to the old (lower resolution) post and select "Flag" on the sidebar
  • Select "Duplicate or inferior version of another post" on the flag page and enter the ID for the new post.

Also you can upload new version, and flag the old one with last option ("I'm the uploader, and I uploaded the file by mistake (only possible within 48 hours of uploading").

Actually, that's not a good idea and should only be used if none of the other options on the flag page fit. For what GaleFoxy might want, "Duplicate or inferior version of another post" is sufficient.

Alternatively, GaleFoxy, you can upload your uprated picture somewhere and then DM a moderator to have them replace it for you.

Also as a tip:
Taking note of the lower resolution image's ID number you can add the tag child:OldID to immediately make the old image a child of the higher resolution image, then copy the new ID when the submission completes and click the child link to flag the original image. Granted that tip shouldn't save that much time, but I like doing it to make absolutely certain I'm working on the right post.
