Topic: What if a user who has unrestricted upload is keeping uploading low-quality artworks?

Posted under General

I know the quality is very subjective, just want to know did those users get an annual review or something like that in case things like the title happened?

Update:
Sorry, I see a user with unrestricted uploads has the title privileged and misunderstand the level and granted permission, updated the title and description.

Unless a privileged user has the unrestricted uploads permission, where their uploaded posts get approved automagically instead of being uploaded as pending, their posts have to get reviewed by a staff member and approved manually like any normal member. So, it doesn't matter if they're privileged when it comes to their posts, privileged just grants them other benefits.

Privileged members, by default, are unable to self-approve posts unless they have achieved the Contributor status or are boosted by the "unrestricted uploads" permission.
They will have to go through the approval queue just like everybody else.

If you believe that they have consistently uploaded low-quality artworks, you may compile all relevant posts and file a report for the admins to investigate.

If one user in particular is doing it consistently, you can send a message to let them know. That applies for everyone, tbh.

Is this something the moderators can notice on their own, that a user with unrestricted uploads is having a high number of their posts deleted or replaced due to being low quality? Or is it something we should report the user for if we notice?

What's the difference between a contributor and a privileged user with unrestricted uploads?

Within the codebase itself these are the only differences I can actually see is they get 250,000 favorites, 120 API calls and a 9000 (millisecond?) API statement limit, compared to 125,000, 90 and 6000 respectively for privs.

It looks like the "unrestricted uploads" permission does it all... even an admin account without the permission has to go through the approval queue.

The janitor rank is also completely cosmetic - they (and admins) can't approve posts unless given the "approve posts" permission.

These permissions can also technically be given to regular members.

I'd imagine the latter is just a stepping stone to the former, since there isn't much difference other than being able to create sets without an hourly limit.

Maybe a dumb question, but what exactly is the 'hierarchy' between all the ranks?

Firstly, I know normal and Privileged users can get the "unrestricted uploads" permission if they have consistently upload good quality artworks or are uploading their own artworks (such as artists).
Typically as a substitute for the Contributor role which have more of a "trusted & very experienced user" connotation attached to it.

Secondly, there is also the "replacements beta" permission which I assume are given to members whom have a high inferior post flagging/replacement approval rate.
Don't know what is the exact criteria to be eligible for it though.
Obviously, this would be a substitute to the Janitor role which would be given to actual staff on the moderation team.

Lastly, the "approve posts" permission would mostly be reserved for Janitors, Moderators (a.k.a. admin-in-training), and Admins I'd imagine.
