Topic: 1.234.567 Members - How was your journey?

Posted under Off Topic

This week i looked at the Users list and realized this fascinating number. Today we got 1.234.567 registered users on e621.

I checked my own number (443.324) and was amazed by the growth of users in those two and a half years. A bit over two years in which i went from discovering my appreciation for the content on this site to having schedules and favorite artists. I love this site and the mesmerizing discussions it sometimes entails.

So i would like to ask you all: How do you remember the start of your journey on e621? What is your number? And what is your favorite thing about this site.

I would love to see different perspectives and viewpoints on this site. Thanks.

A lot has changed in my seven months here. ...I say it as a joke, but it makes much older users seem scary if they have to think about it. (^^')

For real, in terms of the site itself, I just started to use it for joke art that has very little to do with the furry fandom. Now I have a whole code of ethics or somethin' that defines what I will or won't look at, so hey! Playing with the Devil does make you realise what good in life truly is.

Also, the fact that 200,000 users signed up after me... Hrrrh. Oh well, I already had some ridiculously low IDs for other large communities.

Around 2015 I was browsing Youtube for Pokémon Comic Dubs when one of the thumbnails literally had the e621 logo plastered on it.

Since I was curious about the logo I looked it up on Google, and before you know it, I became a regular sleep deprived lurker on this site.

Youtube was of a entirely different breed back then. If you searched carefully you could find literal furry porn hidden in uploads with almost no views.

Not even two users? Damn, site's not doing as good as I thought it was. Not sure how you get a fraction of a user, or how you wound up with two decimal points though.

I've been curious, what nationalities switch around decimal points and, well, commas? I know that it's English standard to use periods for points and commas for commas.

The first furry porn I ever saw was technically from YouTube, back in 2009-ish. Granted, the video was just trying to give furries seizures with rapid red and blue blinking lights, but there was technically one frame of porn in there. post #34255

I have no idea how I found this site. I was definitely aware of a ton of other furry porn sites prior, though. I think I created an account here to upload and provide a bad-quality translation to a cringey comic, which I would like to forget about. I'm user 56837, so I've been here for a while and still spend way too much time here.

I've known this site since... Well i was minor all the way in the mid 2010s. But i think i decided to make an account to basically turn off the natural blacklist that got added in, 2020ish right? And the year i've been here, i've been using this as basically another social media lmao.

But since i guess the biggest things that changed between when i didn't have an account and did, was i got to use and look at WAY more stuff than just comics. I also ended up dipping my toe in translating stuff, and now i'm on and off on it. Though, i guess 1 thing never changed, i'm not opening this site on my desktop, the coward i am.

Basically what that Benjiboyo said. Must've been about 2009-10, in high school. Dropped the site for like a literal decade after until I finally joined last year. I'm 967982

I just wanted to blacklist and to save favorites (and dang, I have too many favorites, some from back then too)
But then I started uploading because... I dunno, I felt like giving back? (I'd say the same thing about editing on TV Tropes.) High enough approvals from the mods, so I must be doing something right.

So i would like to ask you all: How do you remember the start of your journey on e621? What is your number? And what is your favorite thing about this site.

user #75776/user #156099, two accounts.
someone dropped the name of the site in between /b/ sfur threads on 4chan.
if nothing else, it's well organized.

At first I was using e621 without an account. Maybe for one or two years.
Made my account when I was totally 18 (17)
Found out there is a blacklist.
Dropped most other websites for furry stuff.
Found out lots of people don't tag pussy .
Started tagging. What kinda got out of control.
And I started uploading pretty much one year ago... what also got out of control.

I think it has been around 11th or 12th of September 2021.

Incredible to see we have got numbers under 100.000, as well as over a million in this forum. I thank you all for your stories.

I don't remember how I got here and unfortunately don't have much time to visit the forum often enough. I feel comfortable on this site. Maybe it's because the people are all nice or maybe it's because I feel like I'm among friends. In reality I have very few friends. They live very far away and we can only communicate with them via messenger gb whatsapp update

I'm 876249, so there's been over 400k members in a little over a year, now that's some exponential growth especially considering this site is sorta niche.
Like most people here, I knew about this place from long ago, though I didn't really visit it, its existence was something on the back of my mind. Around turning 19 I decided to create an account solely because I wanted to try my hand at amateur translation and then I found out this site's UI is also surprisingly user-friendly for an image hosting website. There's really not much else to say, but the reason I wanted to translate to begin with simply is because I wanted a practical way to practice my Japanese skills and it's also a fun way to pass the time when I'm bored.
