Topic: alternatives to another sites?

Posted under General

Is there any alternatives to other sites like e621 besides fur affinity(it give me headches with the exploration)? my stuff is always getting deleted because they say ''screencap from koikatsu'' but they dont even check that i use studio and its literally a SFM/XDA app using the Koi engine, honestly im a bit tired and sad because i felt people kinda liked my stuff at least with the favorites and likes of each post, but this thing is getting kinda sad and dissapointing, tought this site was different honestly.. more considering how is there posts using koikatsu and gmod and these were never taken down like my stuff... i guess im better out of this site...

if someone is interested in my renders or a giving a random normal request you can send me a message and ill send a discord channel invitation. thanks for reading.

Inkbunny. No really thats it, every other option exists in some form but theyre all dead sites.

If you really want tho, Weasyl, Sofurry, FurryNetwork, VCL.

Non furry specific has
Pixiv (has bizarre censorship rules bc LDP wont let thrm change the laws)
Rule34 paheal
Rule34.xxx

Social media if you want to suffer
Mastodon (confusing even when it works)
Twitter (a place of regret)

Stop uploading your own stuff to E621. We're an archive, not your personal gallery.

FurAffinity, InkBunny, DeviantArt, NewGrounds, NewTumbl, there's a large selection of sites to use.

What about FA is giving you a headache, exactly..?

thats the most random nonsensical rude stuff i could read today, why dont you go and tell that same thing to the rest of artist that upload their SFM animation/Gmod Screenshots/Blender Renders? man, i understand if you talk about screenshots from scenes in-game or anything like that, but Studio works literally like blender since it has ligthing management, rigs and shaders, and you have to arrange everything and work the F out of it to have something nice, you giving that answer really made me now understand that people just kinda dont even care into checking what i was talking about, but i guess i just shoudnt be here uploading stuff anymore. not going to say anything rude or violent but honestly, the reasons my stuff gets deleted is just BS... hope the best for this site in the future regarding this ''rule''. Sorry if my reply sounds angry, but im dissapointed and sad..

That's cap, your honor.

I won't speak on Koikatsu's suitability for use as a more general 3D renderer, as I've never touched the thing, but "Stop uploading your own stuff" is legitimately good advice for anybody who doesn't already have multiple approvals under their belt.

see the following from Gelbooru, which doesn't officially apply to e621 but is still sound advice anyway.

Uploading One's Own Art is a Good Way to Get Your Feelings Hurt

Posting one's own art is severely looked down upon, and there are two reasons behind this:

Firstly, artists tend to be biased when it comes to judging the quality of their own work. What looks good to you may be regarded as mediocre to Gelbooru moderators.
Secondly, more suitable sites to upload your own art to include Deviantart and Pixiv.

Admins and moderators are especially harsh on self-posting artists, lashing out penalties without remorse. The surest way to feature your art on Gelbooru is to show immense talent and skill elsewhere, and with that, captivate some fans on the other side of the Internet into uploading your art.

Artists generally can't judge their own work objectively, and e621 is not your personal gallery. Safest route 99% of the time is to post your stuff offsite and then wait for somebody else to take the gamble on whether or not your stuff is good enough.

You're complaining that your works are being deleted. Sure, the reason's wrong, but they may still get deleted anyways--I wasn't saying to not upload to be rude, but to spare your own feelings. As an archive, there's a good chance for SFM works to just get deleted, especially from "unproven" artists. The artists who do it succeed have a history that actually helps them succeed more.
Also, the fact that you have no gallery means I can't "check into what you are talking about". Seriously. Get a gallery, even if you continue trying to post here, having a source means people can look at it.
Oh, you do have a gallery, you just never actually sourced to an image page, only ever your entire userpage. Still does not help verify specific images.

As for the false deletion reasons, DM the staff who deleted it under that and explain the tools you used, politely. If you're disrespectful, you're inviting them to be too.

You can probably run a second pixiv for separate followers?

This is why it's recommended artists don't upload their own works to the site... unless you have a thick hide and are able to not take deletion of your works personally. Yes, it can feel like a rejection, but it's not. In a sense, having your art deleted as screenshots could be considered a compliment. You've done so good a job that you fooled the admins into thinking it's straight from the official material instead of your own work. (Although that also is a hint on how to make your work less like screenshots. Think about what a screenshot would look like and deliberately do things that would be impossible for a screenshot to do.)

Furthermore, comparing yourself to other artists who upload their works that stay up is misleading, because you're not seeing all the many more artists who upload and also get their stuff deleted. Also, as a CGI artist, you've got a higher standard to meet, since the nature of the art is often not as conducive to stylization as 2D art is.

Even so, you can always politely message the admin who deleted your pictures and politely ask them why they thought it was a screenshot. Be nonconfrontational, appreciative, and genuinely grateful for their answer even if it isn't the one you want to hear.
