That would be anthros, and my guess is it depends on how... "furry" they are on the scale.

And if they're smack dab right in the center of the scale? Hell if i know.

I'd say it'll be a tag team operation with a doctor and veterinarian, Dood!
One covers the other when they're stumped on what to do next.

They'd basically be one and the same - if we're only talking about a furry only world. Would need their own species doctor, but it'd be the same goal in the end.

but what if you were a hybrid between two entirely diffrent species or potentially even phyla, it's not like there's going to be specialists that know how to deal with people who are half dog half scorpion.
healthcare in the furry world would probably be a nightmare if they weren't borderline indestructible and able to recover from even the most horrifying transformations and mutilations. also if literal magic didn't exist.

If they are recognized as people, they would see doctors. But you can call that anything you want. Medical practitioner fits.

Also, anthros would probably be >99% genetically similar to humans. Typically bipedal mammals created by altering the human genome, even if they end up looking like Argonians.

Technically, they're the same thing. It's just one label traditionally deals with sapients and the other with non-sapients.

Possibly. But I believe that if a furry bites another furry they will be euthanized.

The bitten furry or the biter? If the latter Why? humans don't get euthanized for biting someone or even stabbing them for that matter.

Bad dogs deserve euthanization. Bad furries deserve it too!
It will create a safer environment for all the good boys, oh yes it will!

Stop watching Wolf Children right now, you gonna be more sad lol, at least that thread reminds of that scene when the mother wasn't sure where to bring their kids haha...

Where do you draw the line for bad and good? is all biting bad? what if its in self defense or protection? does doing any bad action make you bad thus deserve death as a punishment?

Furry is the subculture of humanity, Anthropomorphism is used throughout history in many different religions and believes. They never can be the same thing.

Thomas the Tank Engine is also an anthropomorph, because it's a train engine attributed with human traits like emotion.

Vetanarians who are also trained to be doctors. If we're part human part animal.
It'd be important to know the patience's human medical history and animal anatomy!
I think.

ANY FORM OF BITING AND IM PUTTING THE FURRY DOWN

With a humanoid body, a normal human doctor could help. Changes to the body, such as a snout or digitigrade feet would potentially need a vet instead, but the internal organs aside from changed limbs is often considered human or non-existant.

Would vets as a profession exist in a world with anthros and ferals? would their body types defer enough to need vets for the ferals?

I think Clawstripe meant doctors and vets are the same. not that furries and animals are the same.

Probably. Humans and monkeys exist in our world, but the former would go to a doctor while the latter would end up with a vet.

Correct, but I guess I didn't word that post very clearly.
