Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is one of those shows that you don't realize at the time but is REALLY formulaic in hindsight.
╹╹)
It wasn't bad, It was good, neat even but the more I think about it the more I realized it didn't do anything new, the
things I liked about it were actually tropes I liked in general and wasn't actually unique to the show, ya know? Every
twist and turn you've seen almost beat for beat somewhere else, Dood
Stop me if this sounds similar: "Parent/mentor dies or something to that effect and the child/student leads a life their
mentor wouldn't approve of in honor of that mentor figure and to spite a world that proved itself to be untrustworthy.
Do Crimes ensue, ultimately leaving the student unrecognizable in the end and having them reflect on it all on their
deathbed from all those bad decisions, either deciding it wasn't worth it or outwardly stating they wouldn't change a thing."
Combine that with your gruff with a soft side dark mentor, Emotionally and mental hurt love interest, "supposed to
be unlikeable" bully character that shows the contrast in character before and after mentor loss and a motley crew of
varying levels of likable that you're supposed to get attached too; and you got "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" a show
you could predict bit by bit if ya knew what to look for. It's not bad, heck is kinda astonishing how by the book it is,
(tropes aren't bad) It's just not as good as peeps are gonna make it out to be ya know?
It's o.k, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners starts with a "C" for a reason, Dood.
(Crap that sounds mean, I swear the show is o.k, Dood! ◠‿╹;)~★
Really curious to see what your thoughts are, Did you like it, did know notice the tropes too, or are you not a fan?
For any of the reasons, why? How did this show strike you, Dood!
