Topic: Recommended video editing software for short videos?

Posted under General

What do you think is the best, free, and easy to learn, beginner-friendly video editing software to edit videos in a minute or less to post on YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels (and Twitter too)?

I'm currently drawing for Inktober and Orctober, and I'm experimenting on posting short videos. Instagram has its own built-in video editor, but I find it a hassle to trim and clip videos there, and Windows' built-in video editor is a bit limited.
Right now, Furaffinity doesn't have a video upload, but I'm preparing by learning video editing should FA adds video.

I'm half-and-half on using DaVinci Resolve, not only because I have to register before I download their free product, but also I would find it lavish and over-the-top to use a powerful software used in award-winning feature films, only to be used for editing short, vertical videos.

Lightworks seems to be the other recommended software, but I'm not sure would work for me. Their limited resolution in their free version seems ideal for someone who has a limited bandwidth.

Any other recommended free video editing software for desktop and mobile?

FFmpeg may not be easy to learn, but it can run on mobile devices.
Just install Termux on your Android device and then install FFmpeg on Termux.

If you wonder about pricing and registration, you don't need to register, pay or watch ads to use any of the software i recommended.
No, they don't collect data, if they did, someone would have already noticed and would be complaining about it and urging people to uninstall it like it happened to Audacity.
