So if there is an artist/tag on the side panel, isn't the number supposed to be the number of associated results?

ie, from the /help/posts page:

? + – tehcanine-art 950 ... would that mean there are 950 results?

i noticed that sometimes that number does not correlate. here is a random example..

on the side there is the artist, which shows:
? kemosyotaralsei 23

but if i click their name, there's only 5 results, not 23.

do i misunderstand, or my results being filtered somehow? SAFE MODE is set to No, and so is Blacklist users.

Deleted posts still count towards the total, see kemosyotaralsei status:any

yeah, I think tag counts get updated every so often to not include deleted posts and/or other weirdness. not sure if this example was done automatically or manually.

That only happens manually. But new deleted posts should update the tag count correctly, this is only an issue for old deleted posts.
