Topic: The Weirdest, Funniest, and Craziest Video Game Glitches

Posted under Off Topic

Sure we've seen a bunch of video game glitches in our time, but there were some that were just downright hilarious. Some filled us with laughter, others rage. Describe the weirdest, funniest, and craziest glitches you have ever seen in any video game.

Me? Well I was playing GTA 5 the other day, and something like this happened. It was funny because I hit a car head first and was thrown off my motorcycle. His body went over the car, but he was still[/b] driving like nothing happened. He was riding an invisible motorcycle. I could control him, but I couldn't get off. I had to turn my PS3 off and turn it back on for it to work again.

Anything from the TES or Fallout series, so much fun.

Does mine stay or go then?

I guess not. Yours is about glitches and the other one I remembered (and added to my edit) was about what crazy stuff we did on videogames

That older thread was two years ago, so while people are welcome to read the older one, I'd be happier if they didn't bump it. The new thread is fine.

ETA: or people could be thinking of this one maybe. Although like Xch3l said, it was originally a little different in topic than this one, it sort of ranged a little bit so a few posts included glitch talk even though the thread wasn't. But yeah, the current thread is fine.

A day in Tamriel without a headless man, or a lady who tries to become one with her ship is not a normal day.
(have about 200 images of Vanilla skyrim glitches)

I very rarely experience glitches. When I do, they're often quite jarring. Here are a few that I remember.

1) The Goodsprings Cemetery Cazador
So, there I was playing Fallout New Vegas. I had just visited the Goodsprings Cemetery and was walking back to town when I was attacked from behind. When I turned around, I was face-to-face with a very large, very angry mutated tarantula hawk wasp. I didn't last long against this mighty winged beast. From what I can tell, it was a simple spawn glitch.

2) It's Rainin' Trucks (And Other Motor Vehicles)
I was playing GTA V as Michael and was standing outside his four-car garage when I saw a large, black, rectangular shadow fall from the sky, followed by an explosion. It was definitely one of those "Huh. I didn't cause collateral damage for once" moments.

3) Box Trucks Really Like Concrete Barriers In a Non-Platonic Way
So, I went to Franklin's four-car garage and saw a large beverage truck basically humping the concrete barrier outside Franklin's garage. I've experienced this glitch a few times.

4) The Gateway to Hell. Or Maybe it's Heaven?
Yeah, the gate glitch. The very same one that Rockstar patched because they hate fun. This glitch stands out because there was one instance where my car got launched about 30 feet to the right and I couldn't get out. Also, my friend's Coquette got launched, hit the wall of his apartment building and promptly landed somewhere he couldn't get it out. I laughed. He didn't.

5) Apparently, the Ground Fights Back
I was playing team deathmatch on Nuketown. This was in Black Ops 1, which was the source of so many hilarious failures. Anyway, I fired at the ground outside and promptly got the on-screen messages indicating that I'd mortally wounded an AI who was probably just as confused as me before he died. He had been nowhere near the front door, so it was definitely weird.

I remember in WoW some of the dungeons where you had to jump down really far into water, if your computer sucked and the water didn't load fast enough you'd hit bottom and die.

I have to ask because I'm curious. Has anyone else ever experienced any of the glitches I mentioned?

I'm the opposite. I'm just a glitch magnet. I can barely remember the good ones because whenever I put my hands on a controller the game just falls apart.

Bringing banshees where you're not supposed to in Halo. Escaping the map in Halo is always a good time. Best one was stealing the Falcon aircraft in the first level of Halo: Reach. We flew some kilometers before we hit the level boundaries.

GTA: an explosion brought the paramedics and firefighters to my friend's and my location. Then they started cursing at me in Spanish and beating the shit out of me for no reason. So my friend killed them all with the fire hose.
Also, every time I finish an air race, I just spawn in my aircraft underground for a while.

I love physics glitches in Battlefield, from my jet shrugging off a hit from a 120mm gun to flying out of the level boundaries in a tank.

Also, Fallout is just the glitchiest damn mess I have ever seen. I have seen terrifying shit. Most memorably, several children's heads spinning around when I talked to them.

My favorite was in Halo 3. I took a mongoose where I guess I wasn't supposed to, so naturally it just flew into the ceiling with me still in it. Then I saw... what cannot be described by any mortal tongue.
Halo 2: park a tank above a Covenant shield. Watch it fly. Bonus points if you have the sputnik skull.

just let your console overheat and let the fun begin

Have you ever experienced the glitch in Fallout where chunks of dead people reassemble themselves and talk to you? Cracked covered that glitch in one of their articles, and it always creeped me out.

I can't remember if it was GTA 3 or Vice City, but I remember this thing where you would ride the subway few times in a certain order and the world would turn upside-down....including falling up into nothingness.

Oh, and that thing where you saved the game with a certain vehicle and it corrupted your save file. Not crazy or funny, that just sucks.

I read that very same article. Never experienced it though.

I've had a lot of weird stuff happen to me though. I really can't remember most of it.

Anyone have any problems with Dragon Age Inquisition? I can't get pass the desert part because the game keeps crashing.

Also, there was a guy I was talking to and he didn't even have a face. It was completely flat. No eyes, nose, mouth, nothing.

Happens to me with random Mercs, I enter a building after killing them (with the gore perk), finish my business and when I get out, they are floating pieces of human arrranged how human body should be, just to fall down.

WORMS ULTIMATE MAYHEM
Fucking bouncing rockets, in a game where almost everything explodes on touch, but when that happens it's a sign of your console/pc is gonna blow.

TF2
Oh god, some parts where the original game looks like the most shitty animated G-mod video.

The wolf among us

I was lucky enough to get the Pole Dancer Bigby Wolf Glitch

...
A shit ton more of almost all games I played. Like clipping out from games like Mario 64 (and dying because falling into the void)

No animations on the character model of various games, just a default standing pose.

On the contrary, he'd be unable to do anything but bluff. He has no idea what his cards are, due to lack of eyes!
My glitch experience is basically just those polygonal games where you jump just wrong, clip through a corner, and fall to the void.

I have fallen through the ground into the featureless abyss in about half of the games I've played. Amazingly, this even includes games where you can't jump or fall long distances ordinarily, like Mass Effect.

I have encountered several hilarious glitches in my games over the years.

I think the best one was in The Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion, in which I had recently switched to PC gaming, and had discovered the console's secrets.

I found out how to make everyone go fast. Like, really fast. So I did it to my horse, with a speed factor of 40,000.

It went so fast that the game couldn't keep loading the environment fast enough and crashed. But even so, just for a few moments, my horse was using the Speed Force.

Well, I don't play Fallout NV but in Skyrim, when the game is under heavy load (script lag and stuff), NPCs and objects wouldn't load in time. Then you're left wondering how that bear / sabertooth / wolf pack / bandit group could've possibly ambushed you from behind on a place that has no cover nearby. Also, I'm using Open Cities Skyrim, and once I've managed to walk inside Riften before the gates were loaded behind me.
Though I must say that I use Nature of the Beast II mod and that's a rather script-heavy thing. I'm using ini tweaks to increase script processing performance but it's still causing gradual FPS drops. Waiting on the System menu until my FPS climbs back to normal appears to be the only solution for me. Well, aside from buying a more powerful notebook / PC, but I don't have the funds for that.

A few other Skyrim glitches:

A random vampire attack hit Riften. Once I thought everyone has been dealt with, I noticed one more hostile marker on the compass. But I couldn't find him anywhere. Then I noticed something strange on the ground... The Master Vampire of the group somehow got stuck in the terrain and only his head was visible. That was hilarious.

I've also experienced a minor case of the infamous Helgen Carriage bug. Thankfully it didn't break the scene so it caused no real problem.

One memorable encounter with the Headless Horseman. I was going to the West from Whiterun when I noticed him on the road in front of me. Though he was completely gliched out because he moved like he was pushed around by some invisible force. Like suddenly flying 20 meters to his right, turning around in a split second, quickly spazzing forward (or sideways), resting for a few seconds then resuming his weird acrobatics. Then he disappeared, possibly going to his destination. I wish I could've recorded that. Maybe something like this happened, only on a rather flat ground.

Though if you want to see funny glitches, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haIdsY3zgM4

Well, yesterday I came across an odd glitch/bug in Far Cry 4 for the PS4. I was using the wingsuit to glide across to the objective, and at one point I got out of the map bounds, so there was a timer before it sent me back in bounds. I thought I would get back in bounds, but the timer ran out and the screen faded to black. After it came back, I immediately smashed into the side of a hill, causing me to die and clip into it. After the loading screen, I was returned back to the nearest checkpoint with no sound. At all. No menu sounds, no game sounds, no nothing. Had to save and quit.

I think I would have crapped myself if that happened. There are some things the Headless Horseman should never do, and that's one of them.

Well, since I knew that he's only a neutral encounter, I was just... ಠ_ಠ WTF are you doing?
