Trust me, I understand that nervousness. I really understand that nervousness. That feeling of being ignored can sting a lot worse than a rejection.
But asking them to hurry up doesn't help your case.

If you ever feel like your approvals are taking a long time, look at the results for status:pending. Right now there's over 4500 pending posts. It'll be a while.

It looks like it is getting out of hand. I have never seen so many unapproved posts. Or did I just look at the wrong moments?

There are also over 450 pending tickets, some going back at least 2 months.

Would the problem be alleviated even a bit if there would be a hiring of extra Janitors?

For approving stuff, for sure. But the ticket queue is handled by the admins.

Man, that off day for uploading someone mentioned a while back starting to look really nice.

(Says the person with 1000+ uploads and almost did daily uploads in a year (but hey, i’ve been taking it slower))

And I don't think that would help. Most uploads come from many people with a low upload rate. If they can't post it on one day, they'll do it on the next one, and fill up the queue anyway. Most users who do 50 uploads per day have most likely auto approve, and they would just be sad if they can't upload... I would be sad... I need my daily dopamine.

Yeah, I was focused on the post approving.
I feel like the tickets is another layer.
I just hope there'd be more discerning Janitors to ease the approvals, like in the OP's case,

I mean, there are also those power uploaders that suddenly dump an entire artist archive onto the site, then just... stop. then go back to power uploading like 3 months later, then stop again I'm calling myself out so hard rn

Actually, now I'm curious, what percentage of uploads are from users with less than X amount of Y?
like % of uploads from users with less than 10 total posts.maybe someone can hammer something out
