I have looked through the help section and I cannot seem to find this but on posts in a page view there are the Likes, the Favorites, the Comment count indicator, the Rating and then there is a letter - what is the signifigance of that last letter ?

If there is a letter after the rating, then that usually is either a P (for Parent Post) or a C (for Child Post) or a PC (to indicate it has both Parent and Child posts linked to it. So it will also usually have either a yellow or green border around the thumbnail, which also tells you if it is parent/child linked with another post.

If it doesn't have the border or any obvious linked parent/child post when you click on it, then that usually means the linked post has been deleted (so it would only display the deleted post for staff but it's still linked for staff reference if needed).

P - has parent post
C - has child post
U - Unapproved (still pending approval from a Janitor)
F - Flagged for deletion
