I am attempting to upload a piece of art that was just made public by the artist. Unfortunately, attempting to upload the full-size version of the art results in the post being flagged as a duplicate of an earlier upload of the same art, which was deleted for being taken from the artist's Patreon. I was able to upload a smaller version of the same art from one of the artist's other media sites, but I would prefer to upload/replace the smaller image with the superior one, without it being automatically flagged as the art which was deleted for violating TOS. Is there any way to accomplish this?

Report the deleted version, have the report message include a link to the public version and state it's now public.
