Topic: [Upload Project] Babyfur artist Shadyadi banned on FA, help archiving their gallery?

Posted under General

I think there's roughly over 600 artworks, and that's just the ones marked as general.

I'm currently taking upon the project of uploading the non mature artworks since my furaffinity is also suspended for the week, but my upload limit is low so it's a loooong process, so if anyone wanna help archiving their art, it's appreciated 'w'

The only current sources the artist has now at the moment, is patreon and twitter, and twitter compression is awful. =/

If you wanna help, please upload their art from most old to most recent, to archive the artist's skill progression. (Of course, still respecting the upload guidelines of no human-only, and enough artistic quality)

I have actually already uploaded a good chunk of their gallery. not sure of the specifics.
and it was from twitter... painful, but now i can upload from FA knowing its probably the best version
...
I just realized that the new limit change is far too recent to be of significant help

yeah.. don't worry about those, just tag better_version_at_source and archive the source with "archive.today" so someone with access to the Replacement system replaces them from the archived FA 'w'.

*flashback to adding archived source to literally 3k posts*

I actually uploaded their stuff from twitter, not FA, so being able to upload from FA is really helpful, removes lots of the junk images and duplicates

Oh, I just noticed, it seems that it's no always the case, sometimes the FA is inferior because prior to some time last year, the FA 1280x1280 size limit was still a thing, and the artist didn't always upload in png or did the image size workaround, so gotta check it on a case by case basis which one has the most compression artifacts :')

if all else goes wrong, there are always the archival sites. though uploading becomes infinitely more tedious

If it's just the downloading part the browser extension DownloadThemAll can be very useful to download all links on a page.

When I get home first thing I'm going to do is tell Hydrus to download their ENTIRE FA and the tags associated with them(FA tagging is shit I kno) as being able to have my archival software somewhat be able to sort them for me will let me sort thought the stuff more easily

Doesn't seem to work as I expected, it download what is visible rather than "grabbing" the proper links, which results in downloading the thumbnails/shrinked down images =/

If you're using Firefix you could try using the addon Furaffinity Extender, I believe that has an option to rip am entire gallery. If that doesn't work it will at the very least make it faster by offering a dedicated download button at the top that circumvents the file save dialog entirely and just dumps it into your download directory.

was talking about for the archive site, asuming you mean the one that is just a file directory list.
anyways, import is started.

Oh so that's what the extension does, the download button was so small I didn't notice.

yeah the archive im thinking of is purely utility, not really meant for browsing, its super barebones, but most posts have 2 links, 1 for the direct image, and 1 for the image sometimes and its description.

May I know what archive is that you use? I only know/use the web.archive.org and archive.ph

I use https://g6jy5jkx466lrqojcngbnksugrcfxsl562bzuikrka5rv7srgguqbjid.onion.ly/fa/fender/
thats the browser friendly link, but about 65% of the time it doesnt work

g6jy5jkx466lrqojcngbnksugrcfxsl562bzuikrka5rv7srgguqbjid.onion/fa/fender/
heres the actual onion link. (aka use tor)

just replace "fender" with the artists name and youre good to go.

am I allowed to share this...? I'm not sure, there is manual web archive... and then there is this...

Got everything downloaded. Will do a checksum search to see what is and isn't on e6

Side note seeing all of an artists works in once place, really shows just how the more you do a thing the better you get at it. The transformation is impressive
