Topic: Deleting posts that aren't really duplicates.

Posted under General

Not too long ago I had posted an edit to one of The Boogie's works (An edit the artist had done themselves). However it was flagged and deleted despite the distinct difference. This is not the only case. I meant to post a minus 8 edit that allowed control of the animation. However it had already been posted then deleted. So, has there been some change in how duplicates are identified or am I missing something?

Admins are just humans - probably someone made a mistake. It's going to happen from time to time unless we replace them all with robots. Have you tried sending PM to admin who deleted post before posting forum thread?

Yeah, admins can still see the deleted posts (unless destroyed, which, afaik, is a rare occassion). As Granberia said, you should contact the admin who deleted it stating the differences and it might get the post back up again

Yeah, write the guy who deleted it (probably me) and tell them about the difference.

If the difference isn't visible quickly enough it may be deleted as a repost by accident.

So... when do we begin the assimilation?
