Topic: confusing rule enforcement

Posted under General

I recently uploaded a few images of mine, yet they got deleted with the reason "Irrelevant to site. (Human only)". Now these images were of a character of mine, who has animal ears and a tail. If those traits are not enough to warrant calling her non-human, then i'd just accept it and move on, yet i see countless images on this site, with characters falling into the same exact category and they get approved. Look no further than Ahri from LoL. She's just a human with fox ears and fox tails, yet you find over 1k images on this site being approved. Now my question is, is there no ruling for this and the mods just decide on it based on their current mood, or were my images wrongfully deleted or are all those countless other images wrongfully approved? I'm not here to force anyone to "undelete" my images or anything, i just want to know the reason why these ruling are seemingly randomly applied.

Assuming these are the deleted images, I can see why they would get deleted. The ears are the same colour as the hair and become very difficult to distinguish from the hair itself, while the tail is quite ambiguous too.

I imagine this would get approved however, the ears more clearly look like ears and the tail appears as more than an ambiguous line.

Yeah, I would've had no idea this was a kemonomimi without that last link faucet put. The particular angle & design of the ears makes it pretty indistinguishable from actual hair. I thought it was a ponytail at first.

i'm assuming your talking about these:https://twitter.com/Lewd_AVP/status/1608821469836120066while she does have some distinctive bunny traits, however in this case since the ears are pulled back it really obscures her bunny ears, making her come off as a normal human with a weird face and strange (if unrealistic) vitiligo patterning this piece however has the ears plainly visible and i feel would pass TWYS pretty easilly yeah, what faucet said!

but yeah humanoids and kenimono are actually pretty contentious around here and i think are just tolerated here just to avoid complexities in what's considered "human only", hell, i've seen janitors bellyache about welwraith and their ghost O.C.s because they're literally just humans but ghosts (which i think lead to some of them being intentionally deprioritized and let to get deleted via the 30 day approval window passing)

fair point i guess.
i guess i'll just wait and see if any of the images i'll post in the future will be deleted as well

A point of constant argument, given hylians and elves are "okay", but actual furry-relevant stuff like characters wearing fursuits... aren't.

Or Steven Universe gems not being allowed because they're just different color humans but Ranni_the_witch is furry because she's a different color human with some extra arms and doll joints

Extra human limbs and another skin color do not add to relevancy. But the ball joints do... but it is veeery thin ice.

There are plenty without even the doll joints lol

The Zelda wiki describes Hylians as "a race of humans", with the source being listed as the official LOZ Encyclopaedia.

Not how it works. Lore is irrelevant: a majority of the species portrayed in all_tomorrows are "human", though they do not have the appearance of humans, so they get a pass.
If you don't like elves, start from there.

It's not elves specifically that are a problem since there are many ways to depict elves, some more inhuman than others. But this is part of the problem, that the term "elf" is so broad covering obviously inhuman characters to "pay attention or you'll miss it ", but as long as you squeak by under some definition of "elf", it's considered just as relevant as any anthro.

Regardless of whatever is considered an elf, it's the fact that Hylians in particular look and are largely considered human, all except for the tips of their ears having a slight point to them. These aren't even like Warcraft's elves that have distinctly long and very prominent ears that are hard to miss or hide (along with glowing eyes and long eyebrows; though these are still on questionable ground to being relevant to furries in my view), they're so easy to overlook that posts are regularly on the cusp of being deleted for irrelevancy if they're wearing a hood or if their hair is hanging over their ears or the viewing angle isn't favorable for seeing the small ear tips. You just need to look at what happened with Addiction to see how ridiculous it gets (irrelevant, suddenly relevant ).
