Topic: A question regarding posting officially purged and removed from the net paid content?

Posted under General

Are we allowed to post paysite only content here that has been deemed officially nonexisting, purged for the good of the artist and is now considered lost content?

Bunnybits recently got hit by a new french law that declared all their cub work to be illegal and as such to avoid jailtime they needed to delete all of these works and delete any account that profits of them (or just delete all content). Officially the artist now forfeited ownership over the art legally including all copyright and other legal connections.

Im curious what is the stance on things like this because right now that paysite content no longer exist and the artist expressed that any content out on "archieve" sites is now out of their control?

Well... I'm currently uploading their publicly available content(from twitter and inkbunny), but I did not have access to her patreon/kofi or other paid platform prior to deletion.

I'm also curious to know what the rules stance in this case is, considering the artist gave permission for their art to be archived. And her art is very good, would be a shame to lose all any of it.

I do have a few sources here and there (that shall not be named) but i need to know the official concensus. Considering how its law dictated abadonment i would say even if they dont like it spreading they no longer own the art but they do gave permission.

Disclaimer: Not a lawyer

If you're worried about, let's say, the artist being targeted by law because other users are uploading 'illegal' content the artist made, which was never made public because it was pay-walled, potentially constituting "cp distribution" as per French law, then I think there isn't much worry.

Because this content was available on internet at some point, publicly or not, it's impossible and unrealistic to expect it to be fully deleted. Eternalization of content is one of the internet's perks and problems.
Therefore, since other users from locations where said content is allowed are the ones distributing it, the artist can't logically be held liable by the behavior of third-parties from other countries.

...unless I misinterpreted your current worry.

Im not worried about the artist getting hit by law but more about me getting strikes here for breaking the rules on piracy and such.

Okay i got the official statement by a moderator from here.

All content that was ever paid only stays this way even thought the content was well purged by law and disowned by law but it is what it is. If we want to archieve the content it needs to go to another site.
