Topic: Is there a way to make images automatically scale down so their entirety can be seen on screen?

Posted under General

I'm getting tired of scrolling around or zooming my page out to see an entire image. This has become an issue everywhere and especially FA now that they expanded their size restrictions. Whenever I export images I scale them down for this exact reason.

Maybe some people enjoy seeing maximum rez images but I'd prefer to see the whole image at once than be zoomed in on it.

Go to your Settings (accessible from the page that displays "Welcome" in various languages), scroll down to "Default Image Width", and change it to "Fit (Horizontal)", "Fit (Vertical)", or "Sample (850px)", whichever you like best.

For e621:

  • Account -> Settings -> Default image width
  • Change it to literally anything BUT original. I personally have it at Fit (Horizontal), so that Mobile Gestures still work.

For FA:

  • (In Classic theme) My FA -> Account Management -> Account Settings -> Full View
  • (In Modern theme) Settings -> Account Settings -> Account Personalization -> Image Full View
  • Change from Full Resolution to Thumbnail.
