Topic: Zootopia 2 in development

As cool as it is to finally get a sequel, I'm worried, since we all know that Disney is going downhill for the past few years. So I'm keeping my expectations moderate.
Since Rich Moore left Disney in 2019, Byron Howard and Jared Bush ned to have a significant input in creating this movie, if it wishes to be any good.

Unless they find a replacement for Finnick he won't be in the movie. His voice actor died in December of 2020

A VA dying doesn't stop the character from ever being used again. One of the VAs for Splinter died and someone replaced him. The VA for Aku died, and yet he was a central part of the last season of Samurai Jack. Lorenzo Frigging Music, the guy who is 90% likely to "be" Garfield to you, died and the role taken on by other people.

In some cases the replacements are close enough that some people don't even realize it's a different person (I didn't for Aku.) Some will never be outshined and will always "be" the defining voice of that character (Lorenzo Music.) But very rarely does a character get retired due to their VA passing.

Did you not read what I said? I said unless they find a replacement. I didn't say Finnick was being retired

Let's hope that they don't mess it up like every other project in the last 2 years

Haaaaaa. It's nice to think about, but realistically it's probably going to end up being another highly politicized clusterfuck of a "movie".

They need to put a husk in there. It will sell like hotcakes once they do, guaranteed

That is not compatible with the world. If they do, there will be lots of people whining about it.

That's exactly why the world needs more husks, especially in Zootopia 2. It sends a message saying "wow, there's a husk in there. I feel slightly moved by its symbolism"

"Unless they find a replacement he won't be in the movie"

I took that to mean a replacement of the character/his role. My bad. People thinking characters can only be voiced by their original VAs and no one else is extremely common.

Considering what Finnick sounds like it may be difficult. Some voices are hard to imitate.

Yeah I do not trust modern Disney. Hell given the last few years they may forget to add a villain lol

Considering the first movie had cops enjoying blackmailing people and breaking the law whenever it was in their way, I think they forgot how to make good characters.
