Another good indicator of a person's age is whether they have an avatar of Puro from Changed. Almost everybody I met online who are fan of Changed were under the age of 18...

EDIT: I did not notice it before, but the op has a favorite gallery full of Changed fanarts. How many red flags does one have to raise to get the admins' attention?

A similar thing is the USB key and other characters. I admit that I liked the Reboot (Mainframe) designs back in the day, if we're going to talk about cybernetics or robots.

i think they're neat especially when it comes to fursuit design, i kinda admit that most fursuits give me a sorta uncanny feeling personally and the more abstract visor design of protogens works for me better in that regard, but also watching those vids by Jting-F on youtube really blew my socks off back then (altho i will admit that mainstream light-cyberpunk stuff like watch_dogs and the saints row reboot kinda put a damper on my enthusiasm for quirky visor designs over the years)

There's some accounts that you look at that scream underage, and OP is one of 'em. Protogens are fine though, can be cute and real life suits of them are pretty neat I suppose.

I think they’re pretty neat, I like robots and cyborgs so it’s great to see them commonly. Plus, the suits people make of them are fantastic. Though, I would like to see more android characters, like fluffkevlar’s ARA for example.

It IS a pattern, lmao.

interesting concept, amazing execution. I may not be a person who does the fursuit stuff, but I would be willing to wear a helmet with a large curved screen replicating my facial expressions with small LEDs.

Protip: You don't actually need LEDs EVERYWHERE. There are ways to make lenses with transparent plastic that the light comes out in a line. Also, I imagine it looks cooler.

Funny story: Used to work with a guy that made flashing hats and safety vests that were basically just LED+capacitor+transistor+batttery+resistor(to bias) sewed+glued into a waterproof pouch.

I still can only think of the Protegent Rap whenever I see their names.

In general, protogens (and primagens) are fascinating. Cool Koinu not only designed the species as is, but also gave them an interesting lore/backstory (no spoilers).

To be honest, the furry fandom is the one to blame for making them cringey. The fursuits are okay, but the memes make me go “WHY?!”
