Is there any guide in a place like the wiki, sticky posts of the forum, help, or how-to section that instructs users on converting unallowed animated files (like mp4s) to allowed ones (like webms) and perhaps recommends software and/or a website(s) to better preserve the quality of those acceptable animated files? If not, should there be? It might be helpful to users who want to post animated files to the best possible quality.

I wish we had a centralized set of instructions, but it's somewhat complicated and at the moment all I can do is refer you to relevant topic #35038, topic #32160 and topic #31373.
