Topic: weird bands/artists you like

Shpongle (especially Shpongle) is probably the weirdest I can think of.

Pentatonix isn't that weird, but they are probably the most talented a cappella group I've ever heard; it's very interesting to listen to (pretty much anything, but this is a good example of what they can do, they also did a really good Lorde cover and if you don't mind songs from Imagine Dragons this was a collab with Lindsey Stirling that was surprisingly good).

The Glitch Mob has a pretty good sound (if you like glitch, obviously) and some might find it a bit weird. (example)

Weird Al. I mean, the guy has "Weird" in his name, how's that not qualify?

I'm joking, really, as Weird as he is, he doesn't sound unusual. Pentatonix does, but in a cool way.

heh, I think this is the one that should have been locked, since it's in General and the other was Off-topic, as it should be.

Black Out: Video Games

No, but seriously, these are some of my favorite songs (because something is wrong with me):
Dschinghis Khan's Moskau, a music video in which a bunch of Germans dressed up as Mongols/Power Rangers sing about a Russian city

I have always loved Weebl's songs too

And here is a musical of a movie about an all-consuming alien, sung by someone who sounds uncannily like Frank Sinatra: John Carpenter's The Thing: The Musical

Well, his lyrics are...

Okay, that was pretty weird. Almost Barnes and Barnes level weird.

It's an old one and the music itself isn't very weird, but the video is amusing to watch: Pamyu Pamyu PonPonPon

I admit defeat.

When I was still playing Path of Exile, this came on the Internet radio during the "screamo hour". The more I tried to concentrate on the game, the more I lost it. IMO, death metal has such great variety that it usually "wins" these threads. I have a friend who could probably make a few fine selections...

THAT was an accident. I hit post before I realized I forgot to change it from General to Off-topic, so I stopped the page and changed it. Didn't even realize they both posted.

It happens.

Also, I see they updated the "Respond" system!

My phone sucks when using backspace on the internet, so I'd rather do this than to have to delete a shitload of text I'm not responding to.

If you hit edit on the main post you can still move this one to off-topic.

Wow, not a single person has come out to mention how awful Adam Duritz from Counting Crows "sings", or how nasal-as-fuck Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins is?

As for wierd, you gotta love Pink Guy.

There are two obvious people that haven't been mentioned yet. Vic Fuentes and Chad Kroeger. Don't know 'em? Google 'em.

Vic Fuentes? That guy from Pierce The Veil? I'm around in the core metal scene much, and hell yeah, there are some weird bands around, PTV are nothing compared to that. There's bands like Iwrestledabearonce or Set Your Friends On Fire... also a queercore band called Bawlsdeep... lol
Another rather disgusting than weird band would be Blood On The Dance Floor... really shameful. Music sounds like shit, band members look like dolls, and the singer is a fucking pedophiliac asshole.

Lol I bet I can compete with your friend. Let's see... Anal Cunt, 55Gore (Because there actual name is 55 words long), Boobah, Infant Annihilator, Rings Of Saturn, Spawn Of Possession, Abominable Putridity, Dying Fetus, Pig Destroyer, Magrudergrind, Cattle Decapitation,... and of course good ol' Cannibal Corpse :D
Woah... too much Goregrind/Grindcore/Brutal Death Metal fucks with my psychical stability sometimes, need to listen to some calm ambient now to compensate :D

Weird bands/artists you like. Not weird in generally but the way they sound when they sing.

For me, it's SOAD

System of a Down?! I have every single song from that band!

Are you aware of the single albums Serj Tankian made? When I found out about that, I was quite astonished to hear more of a good thing from a fantastic song artist.

Serj's solo stuff is great, as well as his collaborations with other artists. One of my personal favorites was his song on Buckethead and Friends. Warning though, the music is great, but the music video is really fucking weird... like everything to do with Buckethead really.

Another band whose music I particularly enjoy is Disturbed. The rhythm of the music is powerful, and the lyrics themselves hold quite a substantial amount of depth despite the genre.

In fact, their "Ten Thousand Fists" album is the very first set of music that I've ever gotten my hands on digitally and saved onto my smartphone. And that was way back when I was in middle school, a good friend of mine teaching me how to download and save music directly onto my phone's MicroSD card.

I like Disturbed. My brother got me hooked on them. When I'm in the right mood, they really hit the spot.

I forgot about them for ages but I recently found one of their albums I didn't even know existed (The Lost Children) and found myself getting right back into them all over again.
