Topic: How to make replacement posts?

Posted under General

Im new her to the whole posting thing here and there are a couple images I've posted that are in low res and I wanted to upload higher res versions of them. So how would I go about posting replacement images without them getting flagged as duplicates?

Upload the new version, flag the old version as inferior and provide the "superior" version's ID into the field provided.

Alternatively, hunt down someone who has replacement abilities, like a Janitor, and ask them to replace the old version with the larger one (obviously, you'd need to provide them with that larger version).

Either way works just as well as the other, and there's no pressure to choose one over the other.

Advantage is that the comments and post ID stay the same, right?

Comments and votes (flagging inferior only transfers favorites, votes are lost), and keeps any child/parent links intact.

Well the issue here is that I can't upload the new one because it says that it's a duplicate of the old one, but the old one was already deleted by a mod. So I don't know what else to do here.

Send a DMail to whoever deleted it, they'll either fix it or explain why that one was deleted instead.
