Topic: order:change

Posted under General

I was looking through user:kemonophonic order:change and I noticed that hundreds of posts had been changed recently yet when I checked the tag/desc history no changes had been made. None of them appear to have been affected by any recently approved alias/implication requests.

Any ideas?

I don't see anything obvious, but there's quite a few things that can result in a change with no history.

  • Being added or removed from a pool.
  • The thumbnails/samples being regenerated.
  • An admin toggling some of the settings like locked status/notes and hide from anon.
  • An alias being created, and then aliased back to normal.

There's probably more than that, too.

Updated

the change time of a post only gets updated when a user does a manual tag edit. tags added by implication or by alias are still applied to a post, but they don't show up in the actual change list until a user edits the post at which point the results of all aliases and implications are credited to them.

There is something weird going on with post changes. It wasn't that long ago that I made sure video_games status:any was cleared out, so no active or deleted posts had the tag at that time. Yet just now, I found the tag on post #2358286, and according to its change history, has always had it since it was posted 3 years ago. I don't think this was the first time I've seen this, an image with the video_games tag that the change history says it's had since it was posted years ago, but a search for the tag didn't bring it up the previous times I've cleared out the tag. I wonder if there's something related going on here with stealth changes.
