Topic: An artist is having a diatribe long after a couple of tags were locked, what to do?

I don't wanna get this person into trouble so I haven't reported them, but they act very antagonist towards everybody they reply to. What should I or anybody involved do?

I tried to politely respond to them explaining the issue calmly, but they immediately lashed out and told me that it was asinine and that they couldn't be wrong because of a post they have created.

I should have had posted the links as examples before trying to entertain the thought that I could convince them with words alone, but now I'm afraid that by coming back and trying to reason with them again they ignore the comment or will reply to it, but won't understand the issue at hand.

Particularly since the user they're arguing with is stating the same point and they still don't wanna listen, I feel like they treat this whole argument as some sort of harassment campaign rather than somebody trying to meaningfully explain to them why folks might have tagged their post young in the first place.

it looks like they're just having a hard time accepting the TWYS rule...is this anything new?
Even I sometimes fall into this.
But even I can tell when one is arguing a loosing battle.

At the end of the day, who cares...not me...you I guess...idk dude.
Artist is acting a bit privvy

People tend to get pissed off when folks quite literally accuse them of being "wannabe diddlers" with the tagging edits, it's understandable with emotions running hot somebody isn't exactly going to be open to hearing anything that supports such a claim.

enlighten me, I don't get it dude.
what's the prob?

Is he mad because he's not getting his Young tag on his art because he's sexually attracted to basically Loli/shotacon content?
or
Is he mad that he's being accused of liking loli or shotacon content?

Why does it matter? Art is timeless and unable to age, right. Unless it's a literal tangable object on paper...that'll age.

Oh no, another "I can't be wrong"/"I never lose"/"It's everyone else" type person on the Internet. Sounds like snark, but actually I'm serious. They're tiring to deal with. :(

Seems like people keep trying to tag young
and he takes it off.

So is he in the right? And others really want that young tag on?

...hmmmmmm.......maybe it all just doesn't matter. I'm not gonna rack my head over this. Sorry.

The staff LOCKED the tags in question off, and a user then proceeded to try to bypass it by using the lore version instead, which was then locked off as well. Another user then used the edit comment field to call the artist a paedophile anyway. From the double-edit, presumably while trying to re-add the locked tags.

People tag warred it, Admins locked not-young
Then the people tag warring jumped straight to warring the next best thing; the young_(lore) tag, because the character in-canon is probably-still-underage in the latest source material.

If admins don't want lore tags being used like that, anyone who jumps to warring the wrong-verdict on lore tagging probably needs a stern warning, followed by records if they make a habit of it after.

By the way, they guy who made the diddler comment did get warned. Their recent account activity seems to primarily be adding the young tag to random vore posts, so somebody should probably go through and check those aren't mis-applied. I'm not sure what the current edict is on Deltarune characters as-shown-ingame.

Aren't lore tags always supposed to be for artist's intent, not the copyright?

Yes, but calling it lore flavours it toward appearing as if it could be for source material lore.

Seems like they're popping up almost every day now.

I just want to know who this one person who keeps making new accounts which each get banned for ban evasion is. They seem to be instigating most of the drama.

I wouldn't count on finding out, they make their accounts in advance batcheswith none of the banned ones being an obvious main and already had a few around before things started really blowing up. They also showed up pretty late to this one (they're a forum reader, so they'll catch onto any specific issue that's posted about on the forums as this one was.)

Personally speaking, I don't think that character appears young... which is probably the same logic that NMNY is working on, and so why the tags are locked. I'm not sure why the artist is continuing the discussion, he's already won, the tags have been locked off, and the post doesn't qualify as young_(lore) either, as per the wiki page...

This should not be added to:

  • Fanart of characters that are underage in official canon, but where the artist has not made a statement one way or the other

Thing is, tulin isnt young in this art, and even in ToTK he is "no longer a fledgeling" and therefore no9 longer "underage" we literally do not know what rito growth cycles look like and its a decade between the games (minimum of 7 years)

This entire debacle is asinine

Yeah, stuff like lore for famous characters like the roo/kanga comic I helped tag should always step down when artists (or commissioners) post intent on specific images. They... seemed obviously male and female on all(almost?) of the pages. I'm kind of sure that listing that as lore is wrong when not official art. And images without nudity or sex are sometimes a pain there, as well.
