Does anyone here still listen to radio stations? I personally prefer to listen to the radio over listening to streaming services like Spotify or YouTube Music.

Look around a little and you can find thousands of Internet radio stations, many with no ads, every genre you can think of.

When I did construction side jobs with my father, he had a radio that also had a few plugs in it for tools and such. Thank Tzeentch I only had to suffer Fox News once. There was a hard rock/metal station that was to my taste. He also once had a girlfriend with an XM radio set in her vehicle. I liked Liquid Metal.

(It also had an aux port so I got to introduce him to such varied delights as the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack, Gloryhammer, the Kingsway soundtrack and Iced Earth's Dystopia. The latter of which I found out about due to a song about Equilibrium, one of my favorite movies.)

i'm fortunate to live in a place with a great collage radio station

30-minutes of music between idents and spots (which are quite charming at that) and a great variety of music

metal, punk, jazz, hip-hop, the latest indie hits and local no-names; i keep my receiver locked

My phone isn't fancy enough to do Youtube, Spotify, etc.

Could you grab music files beforehand and put them on your phone via aux? Even if it's older, it should be able to play MP3s. Maybe not opus, sadly.

We are not allowed to use computers or smartphones to listen to music during work, but a DAB radio is fine. I listen primarily to dedicated 80s music stations to keep my mood up and occasionally the local radio for news.

At home I am not listening to radio at all.

When I still had my stereo I liked listening to the 70s-90s station while I worked or did things around the house. Sadly I'm juuust a bit too far to pick up a good rock station from the Twin Cities, so I'll listen to them online when I'm in the mood.

A drink on a summer evening with the radio playing is a timeless vibe tbh.
