Topic: [REJECTED] Restore Human Gender Tags

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #5536 has been rejected.

remove alias female_human (1649) -> invalid_tag (8)
remove alias male_human (2448) -> human (362445)

Reason: Every other form has their gender tag. Human should too.

EDIT: The bulk update request #5536 (forum #376405) has been rejected by @slyroon.

I'm in support of this, but I'm pretty sure there's currently many duplicates of this BUR somewhere.

The fact people oppose these tags so much when stuff like athletic_female is given a free pass is ridiculous to me.

TBF, they were probably removed because of poor use, originally?
New rule: Propose to bring back an obsolete tag? You have to go do at least half the tagging project. j/k

Neutral because not really caring either way.

I think they've historically been considered invalid due to a slippery slope argument: "If users see male_human is valid, what is they start tagging things like male_pangolin or intersex_poison_dart_frog?!".

Anyways, +1, and hopefully that doesn't become an issue.

human has always been a weird special case tag, serving the dual role of both a species and a form tag, i.e. position 0 on the furry_scale. If we can have all these *_anthro tags, it follows that *_human tags should also be valid.

As a hint of what's involved if we bring it back:
male human solo 41 pages
female human solo 66 pages
male/male human duo 111 pages
female/female human duo 21 pages
male human male/female human_on_* 416 pages
female human male/female human_on_* 416 pages
male human -solo -duo 268 pages
female human -solo -duo 255 pages
And this doesn't even get into the other genders or more complicated combinations. These are just the most efficient to start with. The rarer cases naturally are best to leave to when you're 90%+ done.

The most logical system is having *_human, *_humanoid, *_anthro and *_feral, and nothing else. The slippery slope is a little silly.

And *_taur, but that's it unless that one guy succeeds in their quest to make draconcopode a thing.
