Topic: What is your ideal furry game?

Posted under General

If you had the resources what Furry themed video game would you make/have made?
Mine would be open world action adventure set in a city of anthros where the architecture, vehicles, and clothing designed with furgonomics in mind. That or a new Star Fox game that takes place after Assault story wise and perhaps a playable Star Wolf and a online multiplayer as robust as Assault was.

Oh you mean SFW.

In that case, it would be sort of like Skyrim but with a way bigger world in terms of species/races to choose from. It might come off as a surprise, but I always went with the werewolf clan in every playthrough I did.

There's nothing specific to furries that changes anything for me.

Just a story based RPG of some sort that doesn't take place in a modern setting.

I don't really play video games nowadays, but I do have thoughts on what I would make if I could ever make a game myself. Hollow Knight is perhaps my favorite game of all time (despite the fact I was too lazy to beat the good ending boss), and it makes me wonder if the magic could be brought to 3D. Also, while it very rarely showed up in the game, I liked how I was able to get to two minor things earlier than "intended" by pogo-ing off enemies, which I'm taking inspiration from. My idea would be you play as an "excadrill"/"neo-spacian_grand_mole"-esque mole deep in a vast underground maze of a cavern, filled with bug enemies that double as platforms. This would be a 3D game. That might be cool, Maybe... I don't know anything about game development...

PMD

^ Also, this.

Dieselpunk/perpetual 1930s-1950s themed world, focused heavily around mechanical engineering to compensate for the multitude of shapes and sizes of sapient lifeforms. Likely would do best as a Deus Ex-ish "stealth optional" FPSRPG taking advantage of smog, pipes, and moving parts to get around. Acid rain as a health-draining weather effect. Likely story routes could be infiltration of said society by an non-industrialised outsider following capture of their people for use in experimentation or as cheap labour, or internal secret agent/spy shenanigans trying to either acquire, or prevent the acquisition of, nuclear launch codes. There's a billion and one routes to go with that.

Something cartoony and fun. closest to that is any sandbox with body physics, Gmod is a good candidate and sure there ain't any furry, but they can be added in, Goat Simulator if youre into ferals.possibly that upcoming Mario game too, it looks incredible

maybe with some unrealistic and weird porn added to it (Bindmancer), but if we're gonna go sfw only, the above is enough.

A game about being my sona, of course. Swim around some big ass stuff in the ocean, cut and weld things, inspect hardware, scrape barnacles off things, etc.. While being a dolphin person robot thing.

I love murder mystery adventure games, and there are a fair number of ones with anthropomorphic animals. (If you'd like to hear more about them just ask. My favorite is probably Inspector Waffles, because the writing is great. It's fairly short, though.) I also really like games with high thematic aspirations.

I'm currently in a Sci-Fi phase, so something in Space with anthros as aliens, spaceship building and planetary missions would be cool. Or something like gen modification leading to anthros as cheap workforce with a rebellion for freedom happening - would leave options for a Shooter, RTS or RPG open. (I think I wrote a story like this once as exercise for writting stories)

this but it takes place after Star Fox 2 instead.

Something with an old-school arcade feel, preferably a side scrolling shooter similar to Contra. I'd like it to feature a cyberpunk setting and a hot wolf chick as the protagonist. :)

Not sure if it counts as furry, but least in the same ballpark. A game where I get to play as a canine (ideally a coyote) (feral, not anthro), and fun and replayable enough that I can sink a lot of time into (or cozy enough that I don't mind that there's not much to do - could be a game more focused on socialization?) Or maybe something roguelite? Honestly I could see multiple things working. The character could have magic or unique powers or equipment in some way, or not, but either way the way they engage with the world should be more canine rather than "basically just a human but looks different," which is always a disappointment.

This is kind of rambling but the point is, I'd like a game that in various ways let me feel like a canine. That of mental immersiveness that might let me forget about the unfortunate fact that I'm stuck with a human form.

Is there a specific character do you play as or do you make your own?

Do you want something resembling a specific time period or a setting that's a mix of different time periods?

The only mystery adventure games I know of is the high profile ones like Backbone, Chicken Police and the Telltale style Blacksad game. I also played this Sonic Fan Game called Sonic and the Mayhem Master.

Do you want this because you want Miyu and Fay in a new game? çause I agree.

Mario Superstar Baseball with some reskins comes to mind. Dragons with a super jump, moles with Montey Mole's speed and maybe a burrowing slide for baserunning, etc. (somewhat) More realistically, a Fire Emblem game set in Tellius with only the Laguz and Branded units. Could be historic, could be after Fire Emblem 10 (Radiant Dawn). I really enjoyed them in FE9/10 despite some hiccups with balance, and Lyre's horrible bases still haunt me. A new PMD game on par with Explorers of Sky would also be a good contender.

In addition to Inspector Waffles, there's also Brok the InvestiGATOR, Aviary Attorney, and Later Alligator, among others. And of course now there's an official Sonic the Hedgehog murder mystery game.

partially this and partially because I thought ending 1 of Command was fine as a conclusion to the prime timline games. also AFiS's classic series aesthetic has probably had some influence on wanting to see more official stuff in the classic timeline.

Aviary Attorney was great for an ace attorney type game, but I found myself wanting a little bit more content out of it by the time it was done. Its plot doesn't really lend itself to having a proper sequel though despite having multiple endings.

Oh yeah. Those slipped my mind. I actually wanted to check out Later Alligator. Was charmed by the gameplay I saw.

Personally I didn't like command's story so if I had my way I'd rather retcon it. I agree ending 1 is a good conclusion but if were to continue then ending 6 is better because it sets up the conflict for the next game.
