I have no idea why it created the topic 3 times. A bug, or lag maybe? I remember just clicking 'post' once.

Fa has a fine community it's just that the site hasn't been updated aesthetics wise for 10 years and that the owner and his crew aren't very good (e.g bringing a proven hacker of flist on the coding team and having them as secret admin for a year)

Come on, this comparison to FA is not fair. There's possibility that FA admins are equally stupid, only tickets from offended people are on dragoneer's wild ride.

It's Inkbunny, not FA. Wuh... Unless you're talking about the FA submission.

I'm talking about FA submission since I quoted link to it. To be honest, original character donut steel drama seems to me to be common among almost every furry community, not only on IB.

Their search is better than FA.

Their blacklist is still a complete pain in the ass compared to here though.

Every search made with at least some effort is better then FA, though I can find what I want most of the time there. I wish they standardize they tags at least a little. People on e621 are complaining about female/male tags. Well, on IB apparently there are female male male female female/male male/female m/f f/m tags. Least popular with 650 tagcount, and apparently with no implications and aliases. What a mess.

Also the way how they display stories sucks comparing to sofurry.

I've recently started art. I began at the beginning of this month (March 2015). I've already made accounts (under the username "GameManiac7509" to both deviantart and furaffinity. They're presently collecting dust and serving me no better purpose than to be able to view mature content that I'll eventually upload here. But soon, I'll be posting art onto them, and I hope I get good enough to feel proud of my drawing ability, just as I have with my writing abilities.

From the sound of things, when I draw furry art, should I acknowledge inkbunny and make an account?

I dunno, it's up to you. Inkbunny does not have a fair community and a lot of people donate to that site, which means they have ruling grounds on how it can be run.

I'll just mark them as a "maybe".

Hell, I've NEVER visited Inkbunny before.

Meh. Honestly, there are definitely enough similarities that if these two characters were commercial, there would be definite grounds for a trademark infringement lawsuit.

EDIT: removed misunderstanding.

@parasprite, @Granberia:
Honestly, standardized, decent tagging is really pretty hard. It's almost a miracle that e621 has so many people working on maintaining a strong tag ontology.

Particularly, if you think in terms of 'X character, but drawn by Y artist', yeah, there is enough similarity that most differences can be considered as caused only by differing styles.

Inkbunny is far from perfect, but this case does not look at all like unfairness. It looks like you duplicated the character design, barely making an effort at 'filing off the serial numbers', after already attracting admin attention on a related subject. Then attempted to claim that the admins were being unreasonable, while in fact it was you who was being unreasonable.

It's not about duplicating character it's about duplicating species. If it's reasonable to remove this then it's reasonable to remove all generic anthro foxes as taurin fox rip offs.
The only things that makes character unique, like scarf, were not copied.

It's really not that hard to make aliases for several very popular tags. I'm not talking about things that are debated here for months but very simple aliases that no one would question. (I hope I'm not too optimistic and there are no furry artists that would claim that aliasing f/m to female/male limits their artistic freedom.)

Well, I don't follow the source material, Pokemon, so I guess I'll submit to your superior knowledge of that area.

In that case, I'd suggest that OP would have been better served to point out immediately that there is nothing unique about the original character design, it just arises from a no-brainer amalgam of the two base species.

That would be much more winnable than the measure of similarity (if you showed those two pics to a random uninvolved furry and asked if they were the same character, they probably would say 'yes')

First, you have to get people to care enough about having a sane tag ontology to actually want to implement such a change. That would be the real near-miracle, IMO. On the same level as getting most people to use 'literally' literally and not figuratively.

Having implemented such a system myself , I can agree it is very simple to do, though.
