Topic: approval?

Posted under General

Im relatively new here so im not sure i understand the thing about approval
i read and, from what i understood, one has a very limited amount of images they can upload and everytime an image is uploaded, it has to be waited that it gets "approved" before one can post more images
BUT
an image only has up to 30 days to get approved or it get automatically deleted.
and any contestation to that is an automatic ban

but heres the thing : how does one get approved? the people that can approve randomly walk around and if they randomly come across an image they personally like and its not approved, they approve then?
its random what gets approved or not?
theres a sticky in the forum with "approval" in the title but it only talks about what kind of images goes on e621, not approval. and the image i have uploaded are okay with the ToS of e621 from what i can tell. so i don't understand the situation in that view either.

since im fairly new, does this means theres a place somewhere on e621 that i do not know where one must seek approval? is that how it works?

All approvals are handled by staff members, especially janitors.
We will independently seek out pending post and approve/delete them as necessary.

Contesting a deletion is not an automatic ban, I don't know where you got that from. You can ask an admin to review any of your deleted posts, without getting any punishment.

I believe they approve artwork they like first, not necessarily in the order it was uploaded.

Yeah, there are some people that mostly approve the unpopular or controversial uploads. Oddly, I have had some with 100+ upvotes by users but pending for weeks. What's liked by one isn't always by another. ;)

i subscribed to this site because i noticed that the 100+ plague of gripes edits that are on rule34 aren't here

The text you're reading is specifically describing the actions taken against somebody who uploads the same image after it's already deleted.

If you're caught uploading the same image twice we will take disciplinary actions against your account. This can and will lead to a permanent suspension of your account if required.

While we call it "deletion", in actuality "deleted" posts still exist, they're just not publicly viewable. If you contest a "deletion", then a janitor or administrator can simply unhide the post without requiring a second upload.

As Lafcadio said, but also, harassing people would also be relevant part.

You can even request your own posts be deleted, like if you discover you weren't supposed to. Accidental paywall'd content or whatever. Kind of hard to tell with a reverse image search, if you don't know there IS a Patreon or subscribe to it. Just got to be careful and more rigorous, sometimes...

fine about patreon
but if you are implying that the plague edits im posting are actually patreon stuff, i can confirm that the only thing that is on plague's patreon is the "making of" of plague's youtube videos

Well, it was an (arbitrary but common) example. In actual practice, it's usually a subscriber or the artist themselves that notices in the case of Patreon. There's a reason that we have condition DNP tags. ;)

Not saying those edits are pay content. Just saying that it can happen by accident.
